He Thinks I'm Jealous

Chapter 9

THE MOVIE WAS terrible.

Cara seems to think differently, though.

"Oh and that alien who fell in love with the human girl. And when he changed for her and secretly took down his own family for her. Then, later on, he got turned into a man who looked like a goddess. . ." Cara says discussing the whole movie on the walk home.

Since the movie theater is close to our houses and it was a nice day, we decided to go for a walk. Not to mention it's Friday and get to stay up late. Oh crap. I now remember mom telling me to be home early. I look at the clock on my phone and see its nine pm. I'll text her later saying I'm at Cara's, which is our plan. Then end up 'accidentally' falling asleep and having a sleepover.

I feel like a kid again.

We would always do that when we were little, and then sleep over. I would do it with Derek too.

Derek would've liked that movie.

God, I miss him. I don't even know when he's supposed to be home.

I miss him a lot actually.

When we get to Caras house her mom comes up to hug me.

"Kay, it been a long time! How have you been?"

Cara mom is always sweet. One of the reasons I love her. She always smiles and is very pretty.

"Good and you?"

"Oh brilliant."

"Good."

"Come on Kay, let's go upstairs." That's was Cara. I excuse myself from Mrs. Cane and run upstairs and into Caras room. Only she isn't here.

"Cara?"

"BOO!" She pops out of the corner, and I look at her like she sprouted two heads.

"Aw man, you never get scared."

"I'll take that as a compliment."

She huffs and walks over to her Xbox.

"Call of Duty is calling my name." Then she starts it up puts on her headphones and starts shouting voice commands into the headset that makes her look like an air pilot.

"DSONS303! Cover my back!" I hear a faint 'got it' and then shooting on the screen hits my ears.

My phone dungs signaling a text message and I see its Cruz.

Cruzing- Wazzup.

I go to reply but Devin answers. That's when I realize I'm in a group chat and I see Cara's phone lights up too.

DEVIN- Hey Cruz.

Cruzing- Say wazzup.

DEVIN-No

Cruzing-Yes.

DEVIN- No

And that war goes on forever until Noah texts.

NoahStone- Shut the hell up. I'm doing someone.

Ew, Noah. That's majorly disgusting. And now an image is in my head.

"Why'd you stop?" The girl pouts. 

"Hold up," Noah says and texts us on his phone. Then he throws it on his floor and dives back in.

I think a dirty thought.

"EW KAY!" Cara shouts from the headset looking at me.

I blush red and know I'm must've said that out loud.
