It was September the first and Evana's mood has lightened, the soul-destroying thoughts slipped from her mind and excited ones took their place. The Malfoys and Evana had all their trunks and cages in the entrance hall ready to be taken to Kings Cross Station. Mr. Malfoy despised the station, for all the non-wizarding people.
"There is no way I will be apperating onto the main platform, swarmed with mud-bloods." Mr Malfoy spits. Narcissa sighs, slightly unimpressed with her husbands pathetic attitude.
"Then how will we get there, floo powder is always a nightmare . Lucius, Darling it's the easiest way." Narcissa says, yawning slightly.
The children walk down the large black stairs, both dressed smartly, Draco in a black suit and Evana in a navy, lacy long dress. Narcissa smiles at them, a warm sense of pride within her.
"You two look brilliant! Ready for the train ride it's a long one?" Narcissa says bending down to smarten Evana's necklace.
"Can we have some money," Draco asks, his father raises one eyebrow. "For the train, for sweets?" He finishes.
"Alright, one galleon each." Lucius smiles shortly handing them one gold coin each. It wasn't as if he was holding back, however, the children always had a stash of galleons and sickles on hand.
"Thank you!" They both say, happy but nervous smiles written across their faces.
"We are going by Floo powder today, too many mud-bloods in the station. Lets go." Mr Malfoy smiles shortly. "Sorry Cissa, I hate apperating." Narcissa scowls at her husband before moving to the grand fireplace.
The family take one bag each, Draco and his owl and cage, Evana with her kitten, Lucius with Draco's trunk and Narcissa with Evana's. Mr. Malfoy leads the way, followed by his son, his niece and finally his wife. They journey was sickly, worse than the ride to Diagon Alley, thought Evana. The Malfoy manor was far away from London, making an awfully long trip, well it seemed that way.
"Ugh." Draco growls, brushing soot out his hair, beating his fussy mother to it. Evana laughs, her hair is midnight black, nothing shows up, she quickly puts her hand through her hair to remove any soot, however.
Narcissa stumbles but Evana holds her skinny frame upwards. "Thank you Eva." The Aunt says, fixing her hair. A snarl develops on her face as she surveys the crowd of people, she wasn't looking forward to letting her son and niece interact with half the people there.
"Now, lets talk. You two are brilliant children from good wizarding families, you will be sorted into Slytherin, it's in your blood. You are intelligent and talented. Don't mix with mud-bloods and blood traitors, it puts a bad reputation on our family name. Have fun and stay away from trouble, We love you both." Mr. Malfoy says smiling slightly, he hugs Draco shortly then Evana. Mrs. Malfoy however takes slightly longer.
"Draco, I love you so much!" She blubbers. "Evana you are so talented and bright, your mother will be so proud, I love you." She kisses both of their heads before stepping back. Two children are beaming at two adults.
"Mother, Father the trains about to go bye!" Draco scoots off, Evana gives Narcissa a last hug.
"Be safe darling." She whispers. Evana nods, she runs to catch up with her cousin, they both walk into the train, Evana waves back briefly before joining Draco in a compartment with a girl with light brown hair and a boy with dark skin.
"I'm Draco, Draco Malfoy." Draco introduces, his hand out.
"Blaise Zabini." Blaise grins. "This is Carys"
"Hey." Carys smiles.
"And you are?" Blaise indicates for Evana.
"Evangeline, Le-. Evangeline." She says, ashamed of her Father, he never met her, as far as she can remember.
"What's your surname?" Carys presses on.
"Lestrange." Evana mumbles, not looking up. Blaise and Carys look at each other.
"Don't worry." Blaise says.
"Yeah, You've got good blood in you. be proud!" Carys agrees. These people are definitely Slytherins, Draco thinks.
"What house do you want?" Draco says changing the subject.
"Well dafty over here wants Ravenclaw... I want Slytherin." Blaise says, nudging. Draco sits down.
"We both want Slytherin." Draco smirks.
"What other house is there, I mean Ravenclaw isn't so bad, but Hufflepuffs have no meaning, Gryffindors are just prats." Zabini states. Evana agreed with the boy, but she wouldn't usually. Only since her mother was taken she has turned darker, not really sadder. As the only Lestrange left, Evana feels as though it is her duty to avenge her mother.
"Blaise! Ravenclaw is a good house! My family is half Ravenclaw half Slytherin." Carys smiles at Evana, who to Draco's surprise smiles back.
"All my family have been in Slytherin, Well except for Sirius Black." Draco spits the name like venom.
"We never have even met him, Draco, he's basically not family." Evana sighs. Draco shrugs and sticks his tongue out as his now laughing younger cousin.
A girl pops her head in the carrier, she looks kind and gentle.
"Carys I thought you were coming to us." She says, eyebrows raised.
"Sorry Allison, I forgot, lets go." Carys walk to Allison, a small bag in her hand.
"Carys?" Blaise interjects.
"I'm coming back, snake boy. I've left my things." She laughs smacking his shoulder lightly.
The whole way to Hogwarts, the three children were talking about Quidditch. The three of them loved to play. Blaise's mother is a veela, a woman so beautiful. The boys got Evana to talk about her mother and family life eventually.
"Ew!" Evana shrieked, a big toad had hopped into the compartment. Blaise tried to kick it. Draco looked disgusted.
The door opened again. In came a chubby little boy.
"Please, don't hurt him, he's my pet!" He cried, but as soon as he noticed which compartment he walked into he gulped.
"Get out of here Longbottom." Draco sneered, he knew who he was instantly and for Evana's sake he wanted him gone.
"But my, my to-" Neville said scared.
"Get out." Blaise said warning him. Neville slowly left the compartment. The toad still sat stubbornly in the far corner. Evana picked it up and went outside.
"Longbottom?" She called, and the stubby boy turned around. He saw the toad in her hands and whimpered.
"Please don't hurt him." Neville cried.
"Why would I hurt a toad?" Evana scoffed, handing the animal to his owner.
"So you won't hurt me, it's just I've heard things well about-" Neville said teary eyed. Evana stalked off back to her compartment, she didn't want to be confronted
Neville wasn't a coward.
