Once I got into my room I couldn't help the smile that made its way onto my face after Spencer invited me to go the movies I couldn't help but think maybe it was a date but I didn't want to get my hopes up because I knew I would get upset about it if I read too much into it so I just got ready as quickly as I could.
I just threw on a comfy white sweater, a scarf, blue jeans and brown boots. I paired my clothes with some bracelets and brushed my hair through and then sprayed some perfume and ran downstairs.
Once I got down there Spencer was talking to my family like he was a part of it, I interrupted them and dragged him out the door after yelling out bye to my family.
"So do you want to get food and then we can go and see this movie and then afterwards we can get some ice-cream, sound good?" Spencer asked me even though he knew my answer.
"You know I never turn down food" I pushed him lightly and he laughed.
He drove us to this place that sold pizza, we shared one and then got some fries on the side. After talking for about 30 minutes about random things we decided to leave and make our way to the movie theater.
"So what movie are we seeing" I asked because I had forgot to ask before we left.
"You'll see" we kept going until we made it to the movie theater.
Once we got there I was looking at all the boards to see what movies were out and I saw one that I thought looked really good which was a rom-com and then I saw one which I definitely didn't want to see and that was a horror movie. I really hoped we weren't going to be seeing the horror movie but I had a feeling we were.
Spencer came back with the tickets and I tried to look at them but he put them above my head where he knew I couldn't reach, he also got some popcorn and two drinks for us to share during the movie. We were walking towards one of the theaters within the big one and I didn't know which was for the one I wanted to watch and which one was for the other one. Once we were inside of one we sat down and I pretended to ignore Spencer in the hope that he would give in and tell me what movie we were watching.
"Oh come on just wait a few minutes and you'll know what we are seeing" he said and I just agreed and then we started eating the popcorn and I couldn't help but throw some at him until the ads came on and then we both stopped to watch them and get ready for the movie to start. I was thinking that even if the movie we were seeing ended up being the scary one maybe I could use this as a way to get closer to Spencer and then I could truly know if anything was there or not, I was obviously hoping there was but I didn't want to make it so obvious.
After the ads ended the movie started and as soon as I seen the screen light up I knew it was the scary movie and I was screaming inside.
"Sorry I did choose the scary one but I promise you'll like it and if you get scared I'm right here so don't worry" he reassured me and I was so happy at that point.
'Okay but if the zombies come out of the screen then I'm giving you up and then can take you so I can survive" I said and then we both lost it until we got told to be quiet by an old couple so we did.
The movie was about half way through and it wasn't very scary so far which I was both happy and sad about both for obvious reasons.
It seemed that luck was on my side for once because as soon as I said that a zombie was running towards one of the main characters in the movie and I nearly fainted.
"Ahhhh" I tried to scream quietly but it was hard when I was so scared, Spencer told me to put my head in his shoulder whenever I got scared so I did just that even a couple of times when I wasn't scared so I could smell him.
After continuously getting scared and complaining that I didn't want to watch the movie anymore it finally finished, we waited for others to leave and then we made our way out also. Once we got outside we decided to go and get ice cream like we had decided to do before we left my house. I got rainbow ice cream in a bowl while Spencer opted for plain chocolate in a cone, he paid of course even though I offered to. We walked to a bench that had a view overlooking the beach to eat our ice cream. While I was eating it Spencer was looking at me funny so I asked,
"Why are you looking at me like that"
"You have some ice cream on your face" he was snickering at me because of course I had managed to get some on my face which I was trying to avoid and was why I got it in a bowl instead of a cone like him.
I started frantically wiping my face trying to get it off when Spencer leant over and with a napkin he wiped it off but instead of just leaning back to his original position he didn't, he stayed where he was directly in front of my face and just looked at me. I wanted to look away but I couldn't bring myself too because I knew I had always wanted something like this to happen, but somehow it didn't feel right because if he were to kiss me which is what I assumed he was planning to do by the look of the way he was looking at me and how close he was to my face, I didn't want him to just do it because it was in the moment.
Don't get me wrong I would love this situation to happen if we were on a date or even dating but because we were only friends I didn't want to have my first kiss with him for him just to regret it later and I would just be left hurt. I knew I had to put a stop to this before anything happened so I moved my head away and looked at the view.
I looked at him through the corner of my eye and I thought he almost looked hurt and disappointed but he was probably just surprised that he did that and probably regretted it anyway.
"I better get home thanks for today, I had fun" I said sounding nervous and awkward, I didn't wait for a reply I just started walking home and couldn't stop thinking about what had happened for hours after that.
