Chapter 1

-Jessica-

I groaned as I woke up. First day of school. Joy. I hopped out of bed, an cursed as I saw the time. "WOW DEREK, THANKS FOR WAKING ME UP, I'LL GET READY IN A FRIGGIN HALF AN HOUR"

"YOU'RE WELCOME" he yelled back.
Derek was my overly annoying 13- year old brother.

I jumped in the shower, having 5 minutes afterwards to blow dry my straight, brown hair. For makeup, I did a light smoky eye, with black eyeliner, mascara, and some lip gloss. I then put on the outfit I had chosen the night before, a plum crop top, black leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and short high heeled boots. I guess you could say I wasn't one of those girls who didn't give a crap about what they look like.

I grabbed my backpack, an apple, and a beanie, and ran out the door. Then I stopped dead in my tracks.

Michael Larsen and his friends were parked in my driveway. What. The. Effing. Eff.

Let me explain: Michael is by far the most popular boy in our school. Who usually didn't hang out with my clique. Not that I wasn't really popular, I mean, people knew who I was, I just wasn't up there with Michael and his group of overly attractive friends.

And now he was in my driveway. Blocking my sleek, black convertible, I might add. And that wasnt ever the shocker: my BROTHER was talking to him. Not Derek, my other brother Logan who was two years younger than me, and a Sophmore. Wow, um, how did this happen.

I then realized that I had been standing in my driveway for the past five minutes. I shook my head, then walked over to my brother.

"Hey, Michael, right? If you don't mind moving, you're kind of blocking my car."
I know, I was totally brave. In my head, I was like, I am going to die today.

"Sure, babe, we'll be out in a second. Need a ride?" He said winking

I was like, HELL YEAH MOTHER OF JESUS LET ME IN THAT CAR. What really came out was :

" Does it look like I need a ride? " Gesturing to my car.
Damn, Jess, I wish Laina could see you now. (Laina is my best friend)

I walked back to my car, calmly telling Michael to move again. I even threw a little wave over my shoulder. Hey, go big or go home, right?
Out of my rear view I saw my brother and Michael doing some sort of fist bump. God, this was going to be a long first day.
