Jess's P.O.V
I tore off my eye mask ungracefully as my alarm set for 5:00 went off. Yes, I wear an eye mask at night. People are always so impressed... So impressed in a bad way, though. I'm not some kind of prissy rich girl though... I mean... I only own 7 Louis Vuitton bags. Lets not even talk about Gucci, though.
Since I had set my alarm for 5, I got up and rummaged around in my closet. More like my second room, but whatever. When my family was moving houses, a while ago, there just happened to be a good sized spare room right next to mine. So, I turned it into my closet.
Hmm... should I go for a dress and pumps, fancy, or just casual?
Well, think... what are you doing today? School.. Bailey and Haley will help me pick out my football 'outfit', but there is a pretty good chance that I'll be sitting with Michael and Logan today. Do I want to fit in with the guys, or be a Girly girl?In the end, I decided on a Girly cute outfit: a flowered short dress, with a low neckline, Jimmy Choo pumps, and one of my LV purses. I figured I would go all out today, try to impress some people. I put my hair up in a regal ponytail, and did my makeup. When I walked downstairs finally, my whole family was in the kitchen. It was a little surprising: my family was never all together.
There was Logan, Derek, my younger twin brothers, Robert and Alexander, Carter my 5-year old brother, and Lexi my 2-year old sister. My mom and dad were both there, too, so it was kind of nice, seeing that my parents weren't always home.
"Jessica, your father, Carter, Lexi, and I will be out of town this weekend at grandma's. Rob and Alex are going to be at a friend's house, you think you and Logan can hold down the fort?" my polished mother asked, while clacking around in her high heels.
"Sure, mom," I said kissing her on the cheek. I turned to Logan, "You need a ride today?"
"Yeah, ok. Hey, John's going to pick us up for the game tonight." he said.
I inwardly groaned while eating a muffin. I was super excited, but social events weren't really my thing. I mean big social events. Football games were where everybody cuddled with their boyfriends and girlfriends, and laughed with their friends. An then there was always me: the one who had friends, but was just awkward.
I ran back upstairs once I was done eating, and grabbed my RayBan sunglasses. "LOGAN, LETS GO." I shouted.
I went downstairs, and got into my car. Logan was already there. I started the car, and we were on our way. Logan tried to turn the radio to his station, but I slapped his hand away and turned it to 107.9. Luckily, one of our favourite songs, Monsters, was on, so we just sang along the whole way. When we got to school, I saw Michael and his friends in his little group, and gave them a small wave, getting out o my car in what I hoped was a graceful manner.
I immediately went over to my group of friends, and Logan to his. But I noticed something odd: everyone was staring at me. "Bailey," I hissed pulling her aside, "What the hell is wrong with me? I thought I looked good today."
She laughed, "It's ok, girl, you look beautiful and hot. They're looking at you because of Michael. He seems to have suppressed an interest in you," she said giving me a nudge, "Go talk to him."
I buried my hands in my face. "Do I have to?"
"Jesus, Jess, yes. I thought you liked him?"
"Well, I do. I mean I might. What? I haven't known him for that long. I mean, I don't think he will ever show an interest in me" Bailey looked a strangely awkward at this comment.
"Ok, fine. Just remember: It's either now or maybe never." she said, smirking. "Ever."
She knew she got me. I turned around, glancing at the people who I thought were very rudely staring at me. Bailey whispered in my ear, "Head up high. You got this."
I breathed in, and started walking over to Michael. I could legitimately feel the stares, like they were burning into my god dammed soul or something. I thought I was doing pretty good, you know walking. Until I totally stopped. Some showy slut was hanging onto Michael like he was the cliff over a 400 foot drop. She turned a little bit towards me, and I saw her face. Tessa Williams, the most popular girl in school. Does it help to mention that she absolutely hates me?
I turned back around, and signified to Bailey. She just looked at Michael and Tessa with a look. I couldn't quite pinpoint what kind of a look it was, it could've been a 'I hate you look', or an 'I hate your outfit' look knowing her.
She just mouthed, Go, to me. So, once again turning around, I kept walking towards Michael and Tessa. When I got to their little 'circle', it actually wasnt awkward at all. Well, because Michael broke away from Tessa, leaving her shocked, and bent down to hug me.
"You look beautiful," he whispered in my ear.
I blushed, feeling the red creep up into my cheeks. This might have been a better idea than I thought it would be.
