Regretting Denial in Words

"So you did take it.." Yugi couldn't believe it. The man that stole his soul..his happiness away from him was standing right there with it in his hand as if it was worthless!

"Yes,but it was for a purpose." The man replied simply.

"What purpose? What the hell are you demonstrating by taking my soul?!"

"Do not raise your voice with me; I can easily discard this-" the stranger motioned to Yugi's soul,"and kill you along with it."

"Then don't you? Just do it! You've caused me so much pain for 16 years of my life!"

"The only reason I took it and kept it for 16 years is to show how long you were lost without me."

Yugi was taken back. What? He didn't need this guy. He was a stranger!

"You're full of bullshit." Yugi spat coldly, and the figure came closer,"you need your soul to live a full and happy life. But I took it from you, and you needed it back. That means that you needed me to give it back to you. So overall..you need me."

"No I don't. I don't need you. I've lived a fair life for this long; I don't need that back now."

"But you haven't been happy."

"You didn't seem to care about my happiness when you snatched my soul. If you knew I wasn't going to be happy, then why did you take it in the first place?!"

"I already explained that; to show how much you need me."

"Enough with the bullshit!" Yugi covered his face with his hands and exhaled.

"Stop saying that. Everything I say is true. You should fear me."

"Well I don't."

"You don't?" The man's eyebrow raised even though Yugi couldn't see it.

"No. Give me my soul back you bastard."

"You should fear me." The man cracked a crooked and devious grin,"I have the ability to take away the ones that you care for."

"Tell me who the hell you are, give me my soul back and get the fuck out of my life."

"Not until you believe me."

"That'll be the day."

"Then you won't get this back."

"Bastard!" Yugi clenched his teeth as he snarled at the man,wanting to suffocate him with his own stupid cloak.

"Watch your words Little One.."

"Don't call me that! Get the fuck out of my house!"

"I guess I'll have to show you my capabilities."

"No the hell you won't. You're gonna leave me and everyone else I care about alone!"

"We will see. In time, you might want to keep an eye out for your grandfather." The man chuckled darkly,"goodnight Yugi. Sleep well~."

"Go to hell!"

"We'll see who ends up there first." And with that, the figure disappeared dramatically, purple smoke replacing his presence. Yugi covered his nose again and buried himself under the covers of his bed,praying that his parents didn't hear any of that. He had never cursed like that before..and he liked it. It was stress-relieving.

But that last statement made Yugi worry.

"In time, you might want to keep an eye out for your grandfather."

'What did he mean?' Yugi bit his lip,replaying that line until it made sense.

But it never did.
