Chapter 3
I pulled into the school parking lot, receiving many stares. Which isn't very surprising.
But then some of the cheerleaders that were at my house yesterday started laughing at me.
Except for Dylan, who wasn't there.
I just got out of the car and tried to force myself not to cry on my first day. Fresh start right?
Oh great. Now I sound like my mother.
Walking in the outside waiting area was even worse than pulling up to the curb. Everyone laughed at me, and even started forming crowds and I had to push my way through.
When i finally made it to the front door, my braid was falling apart, my shirt stretched out, and I looked like a mess.
I walked down to the office, and the creepy typing lady at the keyboard didn't look up. Just pointed at the chair by the desk, and i quickly sat down before she could say anything.
I waited 15 minutes for the guidance counseler and the principal to come out of the principals office, and then they did.
Along with a crying Dylan.
The instantly saw me and rolled down her sleeves, using them to quickly dry the tears.
The counseler leaned over to her. "If you need me, just come down."
She nodded her head, and made eye contact with me briefly, and again said,
"Sorry."
Whats running through my head is why does she always say sorry?
"Miss Brown? We are ready for you now."

Twenty minutes later, the principal had given me my schedule, and now were making small talk.
"So Madelyn, tell me about your family."
I thought long and hard about how to answer this question.
"Just me and my mom."
"And your dad?"
I talked carefully. "They're divorced."
"Where does your dad live?"
"My old town."
"Which is?"
"Oak Island."
"Oh, your from the beach?"
"10 Miles from it." I said flatly.
I never went to the beach, because thats where Carly and her sluts always where, in there string bikinis and trying to get guys.
"Oh..." the principal said, obviously sensing the awkward.
"Yep. Can i go now?" i asked.
"Yes, just have a good first day!"
Doubt it, but I flashed a fake smile.

First class of the day was 11th grade math. I'm a grade ahead of my class, my dad (piece of crap of a dad that is) pushed me, so i didn't end up like him.
Everything went smoothly.
Until gym.
"Oh look, the bitch is back."
