Chapter 5
"Alright, you girls ready?" Detective Brine asked me and Madison as he slammed the trunk of the car shut. All of our suitcases were packed and inside the trunk already.
"Yes... I think so," I say, taking in a deep breath. Madison nodded, agreeing with me.
We both hopped into the car, me in the driver's seat, and Madison in the passenger's seat. Once I started the car up, Brine knocked on my window. I rolled it down.
"Okay girls, if we need to meet up or anything, I'll call you or text you. If you have to tell me something about the case you do the same. We can't meet at the college so we'll make up a meeting spot when the time comes. Alright?"
"Yes, sir," I say.
"Okay, great. You girls have a safe trip, and I'll see you soon," Brine smiles, backing away from the car. I rolled the window up and me and Madison waved as we drove away from the station.
As we drove, I started thinking. When we get there, where will we start? Are there certain people we should hang out with to get answers from them? So many questions ran through my head. I always think through things way too much. My head hurt.
"Mallory, you okay? Wait, should I start calling you Ellie? " Madison asks me. I shake my head.
"I'm kinda scared. I've never gone undercover. Have you? I mean, I don't even know where to start once we get there," I explain. "and yeah, you should so you get used to it and don't accidentally call me by my real name. I'll start calling you Sophie." Madison smiles.
"You don't need to worry; we got this. Brine said that we could do it, and if he says we can do it, hell I believe him."
-
Once we arrive at London University, It's 8am. Class started an hour ago. I was shaking a little bit, but I acted brave and held my head up high.
Me and 'Sophia' got out of the car simultaneously, and slammed our doors shut. We both walked to the trunk, opening it and gathering our things. Once all of our bags and suitcases were out, we walked into the large building.
"Goodmorning girls!" We both hear from behind us. Our heads whip towards the voice, and we find Chancellor Carmen.
"Oh, hello Chancellor," I say, relieved. I was thinking it was somebody we didn't really know, and we would have to act like new students already, and I don't think I was ready yet.
"Come this way, ladies," He says, and we oblige, following him down the long hallway and into his office. He gestures for us to sit down across from his desk, and we do.
"Okay, so here are your schedules. You only have four classes, and there is a lunch break for everyone around 11:00. You both have different schedules, also," Chancellor Carmen hands us a slip of paper with classes and times on it, and I thank him.
"No, thank you. I am so thankful that you girls could come in and help. I care about this college and everyone in it," The Chancellor smiles at us, "that is why I've made a curfew at 10. At 10, the doors will be locked from the inside and out. Everyone might hate me, but it's for everyone's safety."
"Now come, I'll show you to the elevators. Your dorm room number is 24, and on floor 3."
-
Once me and Madison were in our dorm room, I plopped my two suitcases onto my small twin bed that was on the right side of the dorm. The room was a light grey color, and there was a bathroom right across from my bed. Once I walked into it, I noticed it was quite small; you could wash your hands from the toilet.
"Such luxury," I say sarcastically, making Madison laugh. When I walk out of the bathroom, I see Madison unpacking, so I start doing the same.
I first start by putting my sheets and blankets on my bed, then I start hanging my clothes up. My new clothes are quite different from my old wardrobe. There's more put-together clothes. I definitely don't mind though.
It's about 9:30 am once we both finish unpacking everything, and there's still a half hour until our first class is over, so we decided to go to it. I grab the books needed for my first class, Writing and Journalism, and me and Madison leave. Since we have different classes, we walk in different directions.
The walk was quite long, so it's around 9:40 when I walk into class.
Everyone's heads turn to me of course, and the first people I recognize are the two kids I interviewed the other day, Liam Payne and Dylan Monroe. Me and Liam catch eye contact, and I immediately feel like he remembers me because he gives me a confused look.
"Ah, Miss Ellie Hughes! The new student. Take a seat anywhere you'd like, I'll catch you up on everything tomorrow," the teacher, Mr. Abell I think, says to me nicely. I nod shyly and make my way to a seat all the way in the back of the large classroom. Once I'm settled, I notice out of the corner of my eye Liam staring at me, and I start getting nervous. What if after class he comes up to me and says he knows where I'm from? I decide to look at him, but he whips his head back to the front of the classroom before we can make eye contact again.
I try paying attention to Mr. Abell's voice, but I honestly can't. I'm thinking about everything way too much and so I just zone out.
About 20 minutes later, felt like a lifetime, I feel someone shaking my shoulder lightly.
"Ellie? Hellooo? Are you dead?" a man says, and I look up and see Liam, his hand on my shoulder. My eyebrows furrow and I stand.
"Where is everyone?"
"The bell rang a couple minutes ago. Didn't you hear it?" Liam says, chuckling and gesturing around the classroom. I shake my head and start gathering my books.
"No, I guess I didn't. I was really zoned out." As he speaks, I examine his face. I remember his brown eyes and soft-looking brown hair. I'm not going to lie and say he's unattractive, because he definitely isn't.
"Well that's alright- it happens to everyone. My names Liam."
"I know... Um I mean, my names Ellie... Anyways, thanks for getting me out of my little trance, but I should really head to my next class. See you later," I say, wanting to slap myself for almost saying the wrong thing. I start walking to the door.
"It was great to meet you, Ellie!" I hear from behind me, and I can't help the small smile that pops onto my face.

this chapter was so dumb bye
woo liam and his hot ass are finally gonna be in the story more !!
ok if ur confused about the name thingy w/ madison and Mallory which ur probs not but I'm a paranoid little bitch:
basically when madison and mallory are talking to eachother alone and/or with other people they're gonna say their fake names (mallory hughes = ellie hughes, madison = sophia lynn) outloud, but when mallory is saying like in her mind something that madison says or does it's just gonna be her real name( which is Madison) ,,,,,, and like Detective Brine is going to call them by their real names too ok is that confusing ????
okay yeah anyways vote and comment PRETTY please and i'll love you forever :')
BTW I MADE A PLAYLIST FOR THIS STORY ON 8TRACKS !! it's not really like done (i'm going to add more songs to it as the story goes on) but the songs on it just remind me of this story and yeah my 8tracks name is tranquilouis :))) go check it out dude
