He's an angry nihilist raised on the edge of the bible belt

He's unsure who's blood is on his clothes maybe his own

He's wiping blood from his nose

He's explaining away marks on his skin

He's selling dime bags to rich kids for fifty dollars

He's beating the jocks at their own game

He'll later be playing in a game and get three sacks

He'll take a shoulder to the temple

He'll watch his team win

He'll have an eight-month concussion which will end his sport careers

He'll watch his grades slip

He'll go even harder on drugs

He'll get arrested

He'll change himself

He'll become a writer

He'll be unsure of the future

He'll show himself to the world

He'll be unsure that they will like what he is

He'll try to send a message of love he doesn't fully understand

He'll try to do good
