Pierce led us to a house that was fair sized. It wasn’t in the best neighborhood, but I wasn’t one to judge a person based on their neighborhood. Pierce led me inside and we took our shoes off.
“Dad? Owen? I’m home,” he called out. He led me into a kitchen where a man was sitting at a table reading the newspaper. He looked up and glanced at me curiously.
“Dad, this is Andre. Andre, this is my dad,” Pierce introduced. “Hello sir,” I said politely. “Hello there Andre. I’m Rich Harts, no pun intended.” “Where’s Owen?” Pierce asked curiously.
Rich set the paper down. “He got bored waiting for you, so he took off to Max’s house for the day. He’ll be back tonight. Maybe. His mom texted me to see if he was staying with us. She was worried about him, I guess.”
Pierce glared. “If she’s so worried about him, then the bitch shouldn’t have kicked him out of the house.” “Pierce, watch it,” his dad warned, giving him a stern look. Pierce shrugged. “What? She is,” he grumbled.
He sighed and went over to a cupboard. He pulled out some chips and came back over to me. “Let’s go!” he said, smiling.
“Don’t eat too many. I’m making cheeseburgers for dinner. Are you staying for dinner Andre? You’re welcome to,” Rich said with a smile. “If that’s okay,” I said nervously. “Of course it is! I’m going to go start dinner. Easy with the chips, fatass,” he reminded Pierce and we went upstairs.
“Do you like how my dad yells at me for swearing, but he can do it?” Pierce asked sarcastically as he took me into a bedroom I was assuming was his.
I looked around the room. It had a messy air mattress on the floor and I raised my eyebrow at Pierce. He laughed. “Mind out of the gutters, Andre. I would never sleep with Owen. There are just some things you never do with your best friend.”
I laughed a little. “Sorry. It was just…I don’t even know. Messy bed on the floor…” He laughed again and shoved me so that I fell onto the air mattress. He jumped onto it next to me and wrapped his arms around me.
“Oh Andre. You’re adorable,” he said and kissed my cheek. “You’re not,” I said simply and he went silent for a second before we both burst out laughing. “Good, I’m starting to rub off on you!” he said proudly.
“Oh god,” I grumbled and we both laughed again. “I think we’re going to be good together Andre,” Pierce said with an affirmative nod and I smiled.
***2 Months Later***
Pierce and I were so, so close. We had been hanging out together every day since we met. I was finding myself more and more attracted to him as each day passed, and I knew he felt it too.
“Hey Pierce!” I said cheerily as I saw him sitting on the swings at the park, just like always. “Hi Andre!” he said and jumped up. He came over to me and hugged me tightly.
He grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the large tree. We sat down under it together and Pierce pulled out his iPod and turned it on. I smiled as Between The Trees played out of it. God I loved that band so much. I had gotten Pierce into them.
“Andre…will you be my boyfriend?” he asked me, squeezing my hand. I had known it was coming for a while now, but I still felt my face heat right up. “Of course I will, Pierce,” I said shakily and he kissed me deeply.
“Now stop blushing! For I slap chu foo,” he said and kissed me again. “It’s do or die, and I do,” I said and he chuckled. “Damn straight! That should be our saying or something. I love it,” he said and wrapped his arm around me.
I smiled and snuggled closer to him. “Pierce, we’ve been hanging out every day for 2 months, and now we’re dating, and you still haven’t been to my house. My parents haven’t met you yet. Let’s fix that tomorrow. You can finally come to my house for dinner instead of having your dad make us dinner.”
He shrugged and grinned. “Sure, Andre. So am I still the only one who calls you Andre?” I nodded. “Yea. My mom calls me Aleix, sometimes. But other than that, everyone just calls em Aleixandre.”
“You’re name is so fancy. I’d feel like a million bucks if I had a kid named Aleixandre,” he said and I rolled my eyes. I kissed his cheek. “It’s my name. But I really do like being called Andre.” He grinned. “So tell people that. Have them start calling you Andre! Dam, I feel like I started a fucking trend!”
“Proud of you,” I said sarcastically and he pouted. “I’m seriously rubbing off on you. It’s actually kind of cool,” he said with a wink and I laughed.
“So tomorrow, I met your parents. I’ll wear my scummiest clothes and tease my hair like a scene queen,” he said with a nod and I sighed. “Oh Pierce. What am I going to do with you?” “Says the straight edge homosexual,” he said and laid down with me. I smiled, so happy he had asked me out, and excited for him to meet my parents tomorrow.
