I awoke with a sore neck and a stiff back, my head propped against the corner of the closet. I yawned, listening to the water run through pipes in the wall behind me. The flow stopped suddenly, corresponding to a sound from the room outside the door. My senses went into overdrive, my panic returning as I realized the mistake I had made last night. Someone slept in this room. Terror made my fingers quake. What if it was the man's room? My breathing quickened. I had to leave, but I couldn't risk being seen by whoever owned the room. Maybe I would be okay if I stayed for a while longer? I could wait until the person left and relocate my hiding spot. I calmed slightly; having a plan was better than going in blind

The door of the closet opened, revealing Cody in only a towel. His black hair was wet and plastered against his head. I screamed. "Jesus Christ." He shouted, grabbing at the slipping towel and backing away. "What the hell are you doing in my room?" I could only blink in slow terrified silence. Was he a Cannibal too? I mean, that was the only logical explanation for hat I had seen... right? "Hey!" He snapped his fingers in front of my face in rapid succession. "I asked you a question."

"Don't eat me!" was all I could squeak.

"'I'm not going to eat you." He told me while I watched his brows furrow in confusion. "Where'd you get that idea?"

"H-he... he ate that lady." I stuttered a tear, leaking out of one eye.

He only rolled his eyes, as if annoyed with the whole ordeal. "That doesn't mean I'm going to eat you. Now quit crying and get out of my damn closet." Tears ran down my face as I shook my head. "Why not?"

"He's going to eat me!"

"No he won't! Now can you just—" There was a knock on the door.

"Cody?" A female voice called. "I'm here to make your bed!"

He released a growl, stomping over to the intruder. "Now's not really a good time, Kaycie."

"What's wrong?" Kaycie asked puzzled, obviously hearing the stress in Cody's voice.

"I've got a hysterical teenage girl crying in my closet, how's your morning?"

There was a pause. "Are you joking?"

"Does it look like I'm joking?"

Quick footsteps approached the closet, and the door that Cody had left ajar opened wider to reveal a tall but thin girl. My wide eyes took in her long teal hair and aquamarine eyes in several blinks. She glanced over her shoulder at Cody, who had appeared behind her. "I had really hoped you were being sarcastic. Is she Hunter's new...?"

"Yea. Whatever you want to call it." He ran a frustrated hand through his hair. "Look can you just get her to come out? I'd rather not spend my day in a drafty towel."

"Why won't she come out?"

"The stupid thing thinks everything's going to eat her."

Kaycie gave him a pointed look, her small heart-shaped face holding an expression of irritation for the first time. "What did you do?"

There was a moment where Cody tried to throw up his hands in exasperation, but remembered his wardrobe at the last second, resulting in an almost hilarious amount of fumbling. "It wasn't me! Hunter decided to play show and tell with his dinner when she arrived."

"Oh, well I suppose that would explain it." She nodded, sympathetically. Her voice was light and as ridiculous as it sounded, it reminded me of bubbles.
