Chapter 3

"Light?! Hey Light!" Misa snapped her fingers

"Wha-"

"You've been starring at that guy for the past minute or so..." She turns around "Oh!! I think that's them, the exchange students"

"Th-They're the new students?" I still can't manage to speak properly

The tallest one with black messy hair turned around and I felt my heart almost stop. His black eyes pierced me, and he seemed shocked...Almost, he's kind of hard to read

"Well we can't just stare let's go!" She grabbed my arm and pulled me along

"Misa!!" Takada followed

My heart is beating faster by the second, it feels like I'm gonna have a heart attack.. He gave us his full attention, there's no backing out of this now.

Misa began to introduce herself, but I could only look at him, it feels like a trance.. I want to run away but yet I also feel so pulled towards him-

"And this is my boyfriend, Light Yagami!"

Wait.. what?

"Boyfriend?! Stop making things up Misa, you know that'll never happen" Takada protested, Misa pouted and stuck her tounge out at her

The man tilted his head in confusion, he looked at me and smiled, and extended his hand to greet me

"Light Yagami...My name is L, L. Lawliet... You can call me L for short"

His hands are warm, I almost didn't want to let go

"Nice to meet you, L" I managed to say

He had really dark circles under his eyes, and terrible posture

"tch.." The boy with blonde hair scouled and crossed his arms, the other one next to him had dark brown hair, he paid no attention to anything else except his video game, and wore a striped shirt under his school blazer

I looked down and saw a boy with white hair who was standing behind L tugging his sleeve, He seemed to be holding on to him for support. He's shorter than the other two- No, his back was just hunched over, and his knees a little bent. He didn't wear a school uniform, instead he wore white pajamas

L noticed me looking at them

"Ah, these are my brothers-" he patted the white haired boy's head "This this Near, that's Mello" He pointed at the blond "and the one next to him is Matt"

Seriously? Those are obviously false names, I look at him again, The smug look on his face confirms all of my suspicions. What kind of name's are those... Unless they're foreigners, but-

"Watari-san" Near spoke "Let's get going, before the sexual tension between these two kills me" He let go of L's sleeve. and began twirling a strand of his messy white hair.

"Near..." L addressed his brother, but all Near did was give him the same look L gave me

Near stood back as the older man opened the door to the car "I'll see you later L, Matt... Mello"

"Screw off Sheep!" The blond snapped, Near laughed and stepped inside the car and drove off

"Hey L, we should get going or we'll be late..."

"Oh? Since when were you one for being on time Mello?" Matt teased

"Shut up Matt!!" He hissed

"Mello's right Matt" L turned to me "I'll see you around Light-kun" he turned around and followed his younger brothers

"They're... Odd aren't they?" Takada said with uncertainty in her voice

"Eh?! I thought I was the only one that thought so!! Especially that L guy. Though I heard they come from the UK, foreigners are weird" Misa did, still hanging onto my arm

"The UK?... Maybe that's why their names are weird, not that I'm one to judge"

"I think you're name is perfect Light!" Misa smiled

"Ah, thanks Misa-"

"Quit making him uncomfortable Misa"

"I am not!!"

I ignore their fight and try not to intervene. I loose myself in my thoughts...
L, I wonder what kind of person you actually are? I wouldn't say he's weird or creepy. But I also wouldn't say he's like most people, he's different. I shouldn't over think it, besides what does one person matter? This school is huge with tons of students, so I doubt I'll be seeing him often...Not that it matters of course, no not at all!...Not one bit...
