Chapter 13: The Departure

".....there was another one important matter that I wanted to mention to you about.."
Ren spoke to Dan in a serious tone, despite the fact that he always talked in a serious tone.
He had a file in his hand and was in his usual uniform. He looked really stern and dutiful at his get up.
Dan and Ren was in the business room.
Dan wore his Giovanni suit and was sitting on his grand chair, in front the table. The sun was setting and it was the end of the day.
He was tired after the rude and disgraceful family meeting.
His Dad, James Jacques, as usual had that fearful and pissed look in his face on seeing his son, while his mom , Georgia Jacques, had her pity with a dominant fear in all her moments. From inviting in to leaving out. That fake smile would get in his nerves. But to make them at the least a little bit happy, he keeps on doing the work in place of his brother. One day he has to come out of the shadows, once he gains control all over the beast inside him. Yes, he is waiting for that girl. In fact everyone is...

" Go on..." Dan gave his permission.
Ren is serious , means it is a matter to be taken seriously.
"Alice is coming back..." Ren said straight faced to Dan, despite all the rejections he is about to give. Ren looked determined.

"...so? What am I supposed to do. Be her dog and wait of her return...ha ....or what give her a huge surprise or something?..please, you know I won't and yet you had the nerve of bringing her topic in..."
Dan said sarcastically.
But Ren showed no sense of humor, he didn't smile in fact became more stern and determined.
"Dog? No sir...but surprise ...yes, you need to give her one."
"I know what's on your mind and that's not gonna work. I am not going to get engaged with her. I only want Nora and her alone. I don't need anybody else. Besides even if Nora wasn't their either I would have considered least about her."
Dan said, not even once flickering his eyes with double determination he has taken.
"....Nora...she is not your destiny. She is not the fit one for you master...she is just a middle class girl, who is money minded and wreckless. Doesn't even have the slightest bit of dignity nor pride. Alice is the perfect one. She knows all about your powers and she has already, completely awakened The Oracle in her mind. I too have awakened it but not completely, what is a more powerful proof than this? I have told you all I know about the Dragon life and our pasts together. Even Alice has told many. She said especially about the facts of you both being together all times like lovers. She remembers it very vividly...."
Ren kept on going on and on without any stop. Dan seemed to not care but managed to listen to all words he was saying.
He hated the fact that Ren always seem to get the right part of the questions and doubts and in the end he always accepted it.
"Now whatever, happens I am not going to let Nora go. No matter what happens I am never gonna let her go. And that includes the part when you told her to leave the place without you even mentioning it to me....." Dan eyes showed at most anger. His complexion was not soft anymore.
Ren, seeing this took a step back and bent his head down.
"..I am really sorry Master. I didn't mean it to hurt you. I just said it for your own good. I was just....I promise to never repeat it again." Ren apologised.
Dan's face now looked a little softer and he stood up from the chair. And went towards Ren. Ren flinched a little when he was being approached by him. A hand was placed on his shoulder in acceptance of his apology.
"..Its okay....leave it. You are one person in the whole wide world accepts the existence of me. And Alice..she just fiddles around like girly girl all around the place just because I am from the Jacques family. Besides the memories of me in her past life, the oracle, its just another fuel to her burning desire that's it....who must have known. We don't even know if she is telling a whole truth. I don't feel anything for her, not even my powers seem to react to her . But Nora she seems to be something really, really very important . 'I want her, I want to protect her this time ' words keep on repeating in my head over and over again. I have fallen in love with her already , she has given me new things. The things which I have never experienced in my life. Do you know what she asked me, to a boy whom his destiny to be in the shadows forever and die there without anyone knowing..she asked me what was my dream, it felt though as if, for the first time in my life that my life belonged to me and to no one else...such a girl, to me she is...she is treasure that I can't even dream to give to anybody .I don't care about my powers or my assets or the facts about Jacques family, as long as my life is in my hands it doesn't matter. The powers , you said would destroy me if it wasn't the right girl right? Why can't you think of the possibility of her being the one..."
Ren was confused, and the awesome part is that he didn't say anything back.
"...sir I completely understand, but you need to welcome Miss Alice...I had already promised to give her a surprise....I am sorry..." Ren said.
"...okay on 2 conditions, 1. I want you to apologise to her and take her back in the house and if she denies tell her that it will be her debt in disclosing the secret, though its not much her fault..." Dan giggled since he hadn't need to worry about her leaving anymore. Ren smiled slightly at him because of how happy he looked In having her back.
"..and the 2nd condition is that she has to attend the party as my official girlfriend. Can you accept that? Dan was now smirking.
Ren realised that he couldn't defend himself anymore and accepted with an ' yes Master ' .

She was up before even the sun was up. It seemed like everyone was asleep except for the maids, the cooks and probably the chickens too. Nora, wondered about all the fuss early morning. It looked like their was gonna be a festival soon. Or maybe, real soon.
