He gets really testy about the subject, as he used to be quite addicted to opium for a good two centuries, reaching a dangerous climax before the second Opium War. Even during the World Wars, while he was able to keep it on the down low from the other countries to make sure fewer people knew, as those who knew often berated him for it. Nowadays, he's quite ashamed of his past addiction, and what he had to do to wean off it.
And if England is in the same room as him at that time... Eesh. Get out of that room.
