Should I? [S4S Short Story]

I slowly walked in to the new house. The fragrance was so fresh. The vibe isn't so tense and irritating. I felt new just by walking into the kitchen.

"Come on to the backyard.." My aunt said grabbing my bags. I was a bit hesitant at first, but I don't think anyone is here to harm me.

"It's ok, there's a surprise outside." My grandma said pointing towards two white doors.

I looked at them both in reassurance. Wheew come on Sammy just go, it's not a death trap. I started to walk over towards the patio doors. Once I reached them I slowly reached out to open one and..."SURPRISE!"

I jumped back behind my aunt in complete fear.

A group of people..adults...and kids.

They all looked at me in a weird, but funny way. I quickly gained my composure and stood up straight and laughed it off. "I'm sorry.." I said shyly rubbing the back of my neck.

Everyone just began laughing. In my head, it was such an embarrassing heap of fear, but I just laughed it off along with everyone else.

"Come on sammy, meet your family." My grandma smiled as everyone started to come up and hug me.

After I greeted everyone and learned who they were and how were related, my aunt Chanise introduced me to my cousin Jayla.

"Samirah this is your cousin Jayla. " she patting Jayla' s back. "Samirah huh? Nice to meet you cuz." She grinned dapping me up. "The name be Jayla, but you can call me JB, or jay, or cuz..pshh whichever you prefer. " she smiled.

She was so short. I grinned and chuckled softly. "Ight bruh you my cousin, but I don't mind letting you meet Mike and Ali." She smirked throwing up her fist. "..but what's so damn funny?" She asked.

"Nothing, you're just so cute as a Lil short per..."

"Yea yea yea...blah blah blah I'm short what the fuck ever." She said rolling her eyes poking out her lip. I chuckled at the way she was getting irritated. "I just met you and I like you already fam." I grinned.

"Oh hush..but aye you wanna go to the store real quick?" She asked. "I have no money and I...umm..."

Ok so I'm 17 and I have no idea how to drive. I was never taught, nor did I ever have a job so money was an issue for me, but I did what I could and I stretched what I had.

"...umm I don't know how to drive." I mumbled fiddling with my fingers looking down.

"Aww shit...welp we can walk I mean it's not far, but once you get acquainted with everything then imma teach you, and money? Bro don't sweat it." She explained.

Whew.

"Don't worry cuz, I got you." She flashed her pearly whites throwing her arm across my shoulder.
