Should I?
Part one

Friday afternoon
Samirah

"AHHHH IT FUCKING HURTS!" Samirah cried out as she was being wheeled into the emergency room on a gurney.

Just earlier she was having stomach problems and decided to go and see if she was just constipated. She turned six months pregnant just the day before.

When she got up, she felt liquid running down her leg. She reacted quickly and turned on her lamp. She screamed as she saw red stained all over her hands and legs.

"Grandma!" She cried as she tried to move but when she stood up she fell right back down in agony.
Her grandma came rushing into the room shocked and not aware of what was going on. "Sammy wha-"

"It hurts! Im bleeding!" Her grandmother seen it and quickly went to call 9-1-1. That's how they ended up the hospital.

Sammy woke up to bright lights and the noises the nearby machines were making. She moved her head and her grandmother sat in the bad grabbing her hand. Tears were in her eyes.

"Grandma...?"

"Yes baby I'm here," She half smiled. Samirah smiled back but went to rub her stomach and it wasn't hard. Matter in fact it was a small bump like it was when she was 3 months pregnant.

She shot up in an instant and began to panick. "Where's my baby?" She asked looking around the room. She looked back at her grandmother who gave her that look. That look that she didn't want to see or believe.

"No.." Samirah said softly. "No.. No... No grandma please. Where is she?" Samirah asked as tears startes to fill her eyes. Her grandma shook her head and Samirah held her hand at her mouth and busting into tears.

The doctor came in and she looked up at him. "Ms. Jones I'm sorry. We are still running test and trying to figure out what caused you to go into an early labor. The baby didn't make it. I am so sorry. Please once you are ready to talk we can help arrange a service or memorial for you. Once again we are very sorry for your loss." He rubbed Samirah's shoulder.

Her grandmother stepped out and let Samirah have time to herself.

As Samirah laid in her bed she went into deep thought.

She isn't carrying her baby anymore. The life she was creating is no longer there and it may be her fault. Although she never planned this baby and she was conceived in the worst way possible, she wanted her baby. She had promised to always love, protect, and provide for her. Now she has no one to promise.

"Can I see her?" Samirah asked.

"Are you sure?" The doctor asked. She nodded in response.

Minutes passed and they brought the baby. She was still wrapped in what they put her in. She was tiny. The nurse, with a sad look on her face, handed her to Samirah.

Samirah grabbed her and held her as if she was never gone. She thought of the baby making tiny movements, but it was just her imagination. "My baby.." She sniffled.

"My sweet little baby," She smiled. "Mommy is so sorry," She said rubbing her small little head. Samirah carefully kissed her and smiled once more. A tear dropped onto the little white blanket she was wrapped in. "Mommy loves you Paris." She said.
