Kate gazed around, looking out the window of the bus. Apparently, Brendan rid the same bus as them. And lived a couple blocks from her house.

Weird.

She glanced back at Steel, who was watching Jake talk to Dawn casually. Relating on girls and getting rejected. His eyes lite up with affection for him. She snorted and shoved his shoulder lightly. ''Be careful he doesn't see you turned on.'' She snickered, pointing to his pants with pure mischief. Steel blushed angrily and kicked her foot, she chuckled. ''Shut up!'' He whisper-yelled. She snickered even wider. ''You're so entertaining!''

''I hate you.''

Kestrel peeked her head from the seat behind them. ''Yo.'' She grunted, her fingers lingering on the back of the seat. ''When's our stop?'' Steel looked out the window for a second, than back at his siblings. ''Just a few more minutes.''  Kestrel nodded and than narrowed her eyes at him. ''Hey, wait a second.. didn't Jackson see you sneak--''

''No! He was lying!'' He shrieked nervously, glancing at Jake and her anxiously.

Kestrel smirked and kicked his foot, disappearing back behind the seat.

''Hey, where's the gay team? Slutting out at the front?'' A familiar voice shouted.

Kate turned back, glaring at the voice.

''Oh hey look its Danford.'' She spat, throwing a bottle cap she happened to have in her pocket at him.

Danford was Kate's mortal enemy ever since she 'came out'. Which was basically her yelling: 'HEY GUESS WHAT I'M HALF GAY'. Danford was a tall boy with raven-black hair and ocean blue eyes, he glared at Kate angrily. Flicking the bottle cap off his gray sweatpants. ''What do you want, straight-with-the-hate?'' She grunted, brushing her hair out of her face. ''I just wanted to see how you sluts were doing.''

''Go look in the mirror and you'll see what a slut is doing.'' She countered.

Danford hissed at the top of his lungs, glaring. Kate heard some kids 'ooh' her comment. Kate snickered slightly, wagging her finger at him. She turned back around to face Steel, seeing it was his and Kestrel's stop. ''Bye.'' Dawn, Brendan, Jake and her said in unison as the two left. Kate scooted more towards Dawn and Jake. Brendan peeking from behind their leather seat. ''So, Brendan, what's your phone number? I'd like the text something.'' Kate glanced at him, shrugging.

''Oh...here.'' He wrote it down on a sticky note from his backpack, giving it to her. She nodded thankfully and patted his head. She than glanced at Jake, suddenly deciding to give off a hint about Steel's clinginess.'

''Steel is obsessed over you, like head-over-heels.'' She said slyly, poking his side.

''He's just lonely I guess.'' She almost snorted at his comment.

Did he have any idea how many friends they had?

Was he really in that much denial?

Wow.

Kate glared at him for a few seconds before glancing at Dawn. Who was slowly clapping at how Jake understood the comment. Brendan tilted his head and slowly began to get it, blinking slowly. She heard the bus stop, realizing it was her, Jake and Brendan's stop. They waved bye to Dawn as the walked down the metal steps. Hopping onto the sidewalk. Kate strolled in front of the two. ''So, text you tonight?'' She glanced at Brendan. He nodded and waved goodbye, wandering onto the grass.

''He must have a house in the woods.''

''Thanks Mr. Obvious.'' She snorted at Jake.

The siblings walked side-by-side, Jake glancing to the side as two cars zoomed by. Kate froze for a second, Jake doing the same. ''Did you hear that?'' She grunted, looking at a tree with a looming shadow. Jake shook his head, narrowing his eyes. ''Are you trying to scare me?''
