Harry watched the clouds, his brown eyes sparkling with joy.
Today was his birthday, April fools day.
His white hair brushed his forehead, he leaned over to look below the building. Seeing someone step outside. They had a long coat on, reaching down almost to their toes. Ruffled black hair covering their eyes. The boy watched them go, getting into a brown Jeep. Backing out of the parking spot and driving off in a blur. His gaze flicked over to Ken, who was sitting beside him. His arms crossed as he leaned back into the navy blue desk-chair. He huffed and looked away, tiredly blinking. The clouds drifted by, the teacher kept going on about World War |. Which kept him distracted from the notes Ken was tossing at him. One hit him in the side of the head. Making him growl loudly and squint at Ken. Ken just smiled innocently and started to write another note. He opened the note Ken had threw at him, glaring. 'Happy Birthday, Harry!'.
Harry really hated Ken right now.
Seriously hated Ken.
But he just gave a forced smile back at Ken, shoving the note in his desk. He glanced back at the window and mumbled something. The bell suddenly screeched through the classroom. He stood up and skidded out as fast as possible. He navigated through his peers, leading him to a clear hallway. He slithered into it and hugged his books to his chest. Harry glanced from side to side, he didn't recognize. Then he noticed how the title was inverted colors. He shuffled to a stop. Before hearing a sly voice behind him.
''Harry Jefferson.''
He slid to a stop. Turning around to see his uncle, Ronny. The tall African-American smirked at him. Swiping his raven-black hair back. He was wearing an old sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. Cackling at him distantly. Harry's uncle hadn't been very accepting of him. Teasing him, protesting against his parents, aggressively attacking him, you name it. Harry really never knew why. He was just following his heart. He glared back at his relative. ''What do you want?''
Ronny Jefferson put his finger in the air before speaking. ''You have a crush on that Kenan Rojas boy, don't you?'' Harry hissed so loudly, he felt like he just burnt his own throat. ''Hell no!'' His relative smirk grew, his black eyes squinting. ''Oh really? Didn't I see you being groped by him a few days ago?'' He was surprised his own face didn't burn, but the aggression in his muscles were too strained. ''Groped?! That boys a menace! A menace!'' He shouted. The tile suddenly flashed back into its normal colors. Ronny Jefferson had vanished. He saw students slithering past him like snakes. Mutters and curses coming from their mouths. He looked around with his ice-blue eyes, sighing in relief that Ken wasn't here. And that he knew where he actually was. He suddenly saw someone shove past a student beside him. Instantly knowing who she was.
''Hey Kate.''
''Sup bitch.'' She adjusted her massive leather jacket. Her always narrowed eyes slitting at him. '' 'Boy you just look like you were roasted.'' She muttered, her ruffled brown hair bouncing behind her. Harry shrugged. ''I just..lost reality for a second.'' She shrugged. '' I've been tellin' so many Greek pickup lines to 'chicks today. I think I scared half of the blondies.'' said Kate. Harry huffed quietly, hunching over. ''Uh Kate?'' She glanced over, ''uh yeah?''
''Does everybody think...you know...I have a thing for Ken?''
''Some 'eople do.''
''Really?'' He groaned quietly. ''I don't even like Ken as a friend. I absolutely hate that nuisance.'' Kate raised and eyebrow, ''why?'' Harry could give millions on millions of reasons why he hated Ken, but he kept it short and sweet.
''He's a tease.''
''Oooh.''
''Yeah, I guess he is.'' Kate shoved her hands in her pockets. Harry suddenly changing the subject. ''So how's your 'training' n' junk?'' The girl shrugged, ''its 'kay I guess. Ryan's pretty edgy and all. Like that 'oh I wear black hoodies to seem cool', type of edgy.'' She then turned on her heel and strolled away to class without another word. And Harry's worst nightmare happened, Ken found him. The dirty blonde waved to him, scuffling up beside him. ''Hey.'' greeted Ken. ''Hello, Kenan.'' Harry spat, turning away. Ken suddenly tilted his head ''Kenan? Why are we using full names?'' Harry growled and just shunned him. Debating come backs in his mind. Ken just looked at him innocently, then gave that look.
That look that said 'hey why not be an idiot and flirt with Harry even though he told me not to' type of look.
Harry hysterically cringed.
''So, cutie, did you like my notes?'' The other boy prodded his elbow, making a sound that sounded like a purr. Flirtatiousness filling his hazel eyes. Harry just kept cringing, disliking this. ''I may not be Fred Flintsone, but I can make your bed rock~'' Ken suddenly purred, nuzzling Harry's cheek. He shoved Ken away and did that 'awkward-sprint-and-stomp-hybrid' away. Muttering curses and growling hysterically. Ken sighed blissfully, watching him storm away. Purring in pleasure with himself. He strolled after him, humming happily.
Steel was tired.
Like really tired.
He was slumped over in Gym, Kate standing next to them in their 'Clifford Junior High' t-shirt and teal shorts. She squinted at him. ''You look like you were hit by a bus, my dude.'' retorted Kate. Kestrel peering over from her side. Her blonde and brown highlighted hair swinging over her shoulder. ''Or a plane.'' Kestrel added. Steel groaned tiredly and narrowed his eyes tiredly, dark circles bagging under his eyes. ''Did you stay up all night thinking those weird hormone boy thoughts about Jakeski again?'' Kate said smugly. He growled loudly, ''no, I don't do that.''
''I thought you said once-''
''Shut it.''
Kate rolled her dark brown eyes. Steel growled at her, the teacher suddenly screaming at them to do laps. So the three jogged off, Steel's mind kept wandering to Jake. Even one somebody mentioned his name he went into a daze. He really hated himself sometimes.
Really, hated himself.
He suddenly stopped jogging and limped into a walk. Yawning loudly and grumbling curses. An image flashing of Jake in his mind every few seconds. Making him cringe tiredly, his shaggy hair flopping over his forehead. Kate suddenly sprinted past him, then past a few other kids. Danford growling loudly and shaking his fist, chasing after her like a mad dog. Wait, why was Danford chasing Kate again? Oh right she smacked him. He was yelling curses like 'fag' and 'mutt', before the gym teacher grabbed his collar. ''Nelson! What did I say about the language?!'' He barked fiercely, Danford mumbling a 'sorry, Mr. Sato' and walking off. Mr. Sato aggressively kept blowing the whistle, his buzz-cut ginger hair shining in the sun. Kate then stopped (she completed her five laps) and stood next to him. Crossing her arms and waiting for Steel. Soon enough half the class finished their laps. And now it was onto the sport they were working on.
Football.
Steel hated football so much he couldn't even bare to say its name. It was too violent, annoying, and a 'jock-ruled' sport. He just didn't like it. No, he didn't just 'not like' it, he despised it. He grabbed one of the small colored tank tops and put it over his Gym shirt. He then jogged to his assigned team, Hera Saito, Danford Nelson, Kaitlyn Easton, Mark Gomez and Jason King. He hunched over and growled. Danford aggressively shoving him off to run. ''Bet you're to slutty to catch this pass, Steel!'' He screamed, throwing the ball to Steel. He just slapped it away effortlessly and let the other team sprint off with it. Squinting aggressively at Danford. Danford screamed violently. (see how original danford is)
A few minutes later, Gym was over.
Kate, Kestrel and Steel were strolling back towards the school building. Before Kate randomly burst out: ''Did you here about the dog who gave birth on the street? She was ticketed for littering.'' Steel and Kestrel cringed, glaring at Kate before a voice interrupted them.
''Kate R. Heronwing.''
