Chapter 4

Enid's POV

2 months later

I laid in my bed, staring at the ceiling, unable to sleep.

Carl was fast asleep next to me, his back facing me.

I slowly and carefully got out of bed, making sure not to disturb my boyfriend.

Once I succeeded, I headed out of the room.

Carl's POV

My eyes slowly opened. The first thing I noticed was that it was still dark, probably around 2 a.m.

I rolled over to see Enid not next to me.

Curious and nervous, I got out of bed and grabbed my gun.

Suddenly, I saw something weird out the window.

Someone was sitting on the roof, their long brunette hair blowing in the wind.

I recognized the person to be Enid.

I rushed over to the window, opening it and leaning out.

"Enid?" I called.

She turned to face me in surprise. When she realized who it was, her face relaxed.

"I couldn't sleep," she admitted. She carelessly put her hand on her stomach, which was really starting to get big, her being around 4 months along.

When I didn't respond, she smiled and patted the spot next to her.

After some hesitation, I stepped through the window and onto the roof.

Making sure I didn't fall, I sat down next to Enid.

We stared out at the stars for a bit before I heard Enid ask, "Are you nervous?"

I glanced over at her. "About what?"

She sighed. "Every time I think about having a son or a daughter, my hands get all sweaty. I don't know if it's the same for you, but I'm so nervous."

I took a deep breath. "I am nervous," I admitted. "But I'm confident. We can do it. I mean, we've powered through everything else, haven't we?"

She smiled and nodded before laying her head on my shoulder.

"Plus," I added. "I think Judith will be happy to have someone to play with."

Enid breathed out a laugh.

It was in that moment that I decided I was ready to be a dad. It wouldn't be easy, but I was ready.

We were ready.

A: Oh gosh...I relate to Patrick more so I guess Patrick.

A: All of them! But a few specific ones would be Praising The Walking Dead by KandAturtlerules (because it's about me 😏) and After The Last Day on Earth by Riley127 (because it's amazing).

Q: If you could be in any story (Wattpad book) as one of the characters what story and who? Also why?
A: My initial answer would be JC from my book Together because I love her but that's conceited so I'm not gonna say that. Uummm, any story where I get to be Enid I would be all for.

Q: Do you have any pets?
A: Yes I have a dog named Buddy.

Q: Favorite movies/tv shows?
A: Walking Dead (obviously), Switched at Birth, Pokémon, Polar Express.

Q: Would you rather give up treats for the rest of your life or give up television?
A: Give up treats.

Q: Writing or reading?
A: Oh gosh...probably writing because that's how I get all of my ideas out. I do love reading though.

Q: Snowmen or snow angels?
A: I'm terrible at making snowmen so snow angels.

Q: Favorite season?
A: Fall all the way!

Q: Favorite meme?
A: Anything that Katy makes 😂😂😂
