I went to work on Sunday. I was distracted the entire time.
I read book after book, wrote my critiques and finally, I was done by 8. Remembering I had school tomorrow, I hurried home and got my things together early, recalling my bout with being late.
My phone rang from my bedroom and I pulled it off the charger, not bothering to look before I answered.
"Hello?" I breathed into the phone, expecting it to be a telemarketer, per usual.
"Hi handsome," Paige's smooth voice came through the speaker and a smile eased onto my face.
"What's up?" I plopped down on the couch and lifted my feet onto the coffee table, shoving papers out of the way with the toe of my shoe.
"Just leaving Moore's, how has your day been?" I could hear her car staring on the other end.
"Boring, too many uninteresting books to read." I sighed and leaned my head back onto the couch.
Paige probably went to the headquarters to fix her parents mistake from yesterday.
"I had to go smooth things out with the head honchos, they were seriously ticked off." I could tell Paige was shaking her head as she spoke, laughing quietly to herself.
"I would be too," I laughed and rose from my seat, opening the fridge in search for a snack.
I heard a horn sound from Paige's end and then Paige gasp.
"Paige?" I turned my head out of the fridge and waited for her response.
"I just accidentally cut somebody off, oops. I should probably get off the phone and pay attention to driving. I'll see you tomorrow, Landon. Goodnight." I smiled at her even though she couldn't see me.
"Goodnight, Paige." I said and hit the end button.
It was 10 already and I decided that it was time for bed.
I dreamt of white sundresses and blue eyes.
Waking up before my alarm due to a growling stomach allowed me to be up and ready 20 minutes before I needed to be.
On my way to school, I took a detour and went to Starbucks.
Paige likes Starbucks, right? Well, she likes coffee and that's the same thing.
I pulled up to the speaker and was greeted by a loud voice blaring in my ears.
I ordered Paige something that looked good in the picture and added a shot of espresso for good measure.
The parking lot of the school was crowded and students were standing around everywhere.
When I pulled into my spot, I noticed somebody standing against the light pole beside it, reading a book and standing with their ankles crossed over the other.
Emerging from my car with a drink in each hand, I walked up behind the person and stuck the cup in their face.
"Morning." I said as Paige turned to face me with a confused expression.
"What's this?" She asked as I placed the warm drink in her hand.
"I have no idea what it's called, the picture looked tasty and I added a shot of espresso just in case." I smirked at her and she laughed and leaned into me.
"Thank you." I watched her stand up and stretch her neck out to kiss me.
Everybody that was hanging around the lot gasped and stared at us.
Paige rolled her eyes and placed her lips on mine anyways, ignoring the whispers that erupted around us.
The first bell rang and I pulled away from her, tasting the coffee on her lips.
