I'm being softly shaken awake and I groan lightly. When my eyes flutter open, Paige is standing over me with a smile on her face.
"I have to go to school, I'll be back in a couple of hours," her hands trail along my jaw and I purse my lips so she kisses me.
When Paige bends down, I wrap my good arm around her and make her fall to my chest. My ribs sting under her weight but I ignore it. Her lips are soft and careful against mine.
"Don't go," I whine into her neck as she drops her head to my chest.
"I have to. You need to get your work as I have a reputation to maintain." She sits up and places her chin on my sternum.
"Oh yeah?" I raise my eyebrows at her and comb my fingers through her long hair.
"Yes, as the girl who doesn't skip school." She stands back up and fixes her shirt.
It's one of mine, one of my older, smaller ones. A plaid flannel that stopped fitting around my biceps a couple years back. I shoved it in the back of my closet instead of throwing it out.
"I can't find that bag that Diane brought here, so I borrowed your shirt," Paige smiles and drops her hand to the waistband of those tight jeans, "and your underwear." She tugs the jeans down and I see the band of my underwear.
My morning wood hardens even more and I turn on my side so I don't make a tent under the blankets.
"Hurry back, I'm already lonely." I say to her as she leaves the room.
Paige hesitates in the doorway and glances over her shoulder at me.
"Don't tempt me," she says quietly.
I hear her boots against the ground all the way through the house, then the sound of the front door opening and shutting resonates in my ears.
The light outside has just begun to come into my room and I shut my eyes once more, completely tired, pretending that Paige is sleeping beside me.
Paige's POV
It's strange to know that when I park, I won't have to wait against the light pole and wait for Landon to show up. I get out of my car and fight my way through a wave of students.
"Hey, where's Landon? I heard you guys ended things." A girl with pink hair stops me in the parking lot.
"Um, no," I shake my head and push through more crowds to get to the front office.
Ms. Keaton is standing with crossed arms in the lounge, tapping her high-heeled shoe against the ground.
"Miss Moore, you have some explaining to do." Her gaze is scolding and harsh. I cower and follow her down the long hall to her office.
"Take a seat," she points to the chairs in front of her desk as she sits down and I oblige.
"You and Landon have caused massive problems administration wise, do you know that?" She clicks a button on her computer and turns the monitor to me.
On the screen is a video of when Felicity came into the school, Landon is pressed against the desk and I'm being dragged in by the deputy.
Next, a video flashes across the screen and it's Landon throwing a chair against the wall in the lounge. I flinch when two deputy's shove him against the brick.
"His mother," I shake my head and drop it into my hands.
"I know, Paige. I've read his file." She lifts a Manila file with COLLINS, LANDON written across the front in sharpie. It's thick and papers spill out everywhere.
