Their house>>

The bright sun reflecting off my pale walls was what woke me the next morning. For a minute I forgot where  I was because the off white ceiling looked foreign to my eyes because I usually woke up to a purple one. Chance got drunk and painted my ceiling in Paige's and my apartment.

But the crust that ran across my eyelashes reminded me of my situation and how I cried myself to sleep last night. I pulled the covers off me and walked down the hall to the bathroom, where I splashed water in my face to chase away all the eye boogers. I then washed my face and took my toothbrush out from the box that was sitting on the counter and brushed my teeth.

After I was finished with my morning routine the smell of bacon and maple syrup seeped into the bathroom bringing a smile to my face. Pancakes. I quickly grabbed my robe from the closet in the bathroom to cover up since I was only in my t-shirt from last night and my underwear, I must of kicked off my shoes and pants while I was sleeping. I ran down the stairs with my hand hovering over the dark wood  banister until I rounded the corner to the dining room. "Wow Paige something smells go- fuck."

I walked into the kitchen only to be greeted by a shirtless Tyne flipping perfect golden brown pancakes on to a plate. I couldn't stop staring at his chiseled stomach even if I wanted to. "See something you like?" He said jokingly as he sat a plate of pancakes on the barstool in front of him and motioned for me to take a seat. Before I could answer him he turned around and said, "Then again, I don't do liars..." I felt my face turn red. I slammed my fork down almost breaking the plate, "What the hell do you want from me Tyne?!"

He whirled around and I saw he had unshed tears in his eyes, "The truth Iris!" I jumped off the barstool to stand in front of him, "I can't tell you because it's not my secret to tell." His shoulders slumped as his eyes widen, "You know what we are?" I rubbed my temples slowly since I started to feel a headache coming on. "Of course I do. Mari and I have been best friends since I was five." He stroked his chin slowly, "So that's where she kept swimming off to when we were younger."

I nodded, "We had been friends since the summer I graduated, then when I told her that I was going to college out of state she never came to see me again. That was also about the time you said she went missing." Tyne stroked his chin again deep in thought. "Could it be him... No that's impossible, he's been gone for..." I cocked my head to the side confused until finally he down at me with a new light in his eyes.

"Iris you and my sister were best friends right?" I rolled my eyes. "Yeah that's what I just said." He smiled, "Then how would you like to help me search for her?" I smiled brightly, "That sounds amazing, where should we look?"

"Well I've spent the last four years searching the land and coming up with nothing, so there's only one place left to look." I raised an eyebrow, "Which is?"

He smiled brightly showing all of his teeth, "The ocean."
