(J.R. and Lily drive 2 hours back to Brooklyn, from Bridgeton, New Jersey)
Lily: Wow J.R. It's been seven years since we've seen each other.
(J.R. laughs)
J.R.: Tell me about it. I haven't seen you since the day I threw Mr. Ellis out of that window.
(Lily laughs)
Lily: Yes Ihhhhh Know. Because of you he left a pink slip on my door firing my ass. I think he sent Adam to do it.
J.R.: Damn!!!! Sorry about that.
Lily: No need to apologize that's where we were right....?
(J.R. looks over at Lily)
Lily: Hey I'm sorry about Aunt Sarah, I wanted to come to her funeral but I was so busy with my mother.
(J.R. quickly changes subjects)
J.R.: So you've been in New Jersey Seven years????
Lily: Yes I went up there to watch my mother. I ended up landing a job at a law firm in Toms River, New Jersey. Everything has been good!!!!
(J.R. smiles)
J.R.: That's good. I'm proud of you Lily Bug.
(Lily smiles)
J.R.: So what brings you back to Brooklyn, and I know you didn't make a drive just to pick me up from rehab.
(Lily laughs loud)
Lily: Well Omar called me 9 this morning. I had already called Lorrie and told her I was coming today. Omar begged me this morning to come pick you up. He just knew you were gonna be so surprised. So were you surprised???
J.R.: You know I was..... I"m still surprised.....
Lily: But I'm actually back to sell Bar 4. Lorenzo moved to Texas, and my Pa Pa left the bar to me when he died....
J.R.: Really!!!! But I thought Lorenzo was the owner.
Lily: No sweetie, part owner. I'm going to stay for a while just to see what happens. If I haven't sold it by christmas I may go back to New Jersey. I put my mother in a rest home, she's helpless. I just can't see her in all that pain anymore.
J.R.: Whats wrong with her???
Lily: She has two types of cancer and I don't even wanna talk about it.
J.R.: Damn!!!!!
Lily: But enough about me, How are you Jerrick J.R. Payton it is soooooo good to see youuuuuu.
J.R.: Im great. Better than I've ever been.
Lily: Oh my God. You said that with a straight face. You're serious. I know you J.R. I know YOU.
J.R.: Well then you know that I am serious. I'm not even going to go into details about rehab, but Counselor Greg Michaels has changed my life. I'm not going to base my life on the past anymore. It's all about what's happening now. This morning when I woke up I knew that everything is finally going to be okay. I have nothing to prove to no one but myself.
(Lily claps)
J.R.: Lily put your hands back on the steering wheel, I just got out and you about to kill me already.
(J.R. and Lily laugh together)
Lily: Where did we go wrong J.R.?
(J.R. looks over at the window)
