Twenty One Pilots

1) While Tyler Joseph was enrolled in college, he was studying Miller's play All My Sons, about a man who must make an ethical decision after knowingly selling defective airplane parts to the Air Force, which killed 21 pilots during World War II. Inspired by this moral dilemma, Joseph named the band "twenty one pilots." It would be these kinds of moral dilemmas and life occurrences that would inspire many of the band's songs as well.

2) Tyler Joseph stopped a show one time because he saw a guy punch a girl in the audience. Once he stopped the set, he and a number of other people kicked the guy out of the venue.

3) Tyler Joseph has said that Blurryface is a character that he made up to represent his and other people's insecurities. To get into the character when he performs, he has been wearing black paint on his neck and hands, which he says represents his own insecurities, namely feeling suffocated (the paint on his neck) and the things he creates with his hands (the paint on his hands). He also wears red armbands because red is the character's color.

4) Tyler Joseph created the twenty one pilots logo himself, which he calls "the kitchen sink." He has stated that the logo means something to him and that since he is the only person who knows what it means, it has purpose for him. If he tells, it will lose purpose.

5) Twenty one pilots usually get by on piano, synths, ukulele and drums, which makes their music quite unique in that they don't use any guitar. That is because neither Joseph nor Dun play the instrument.

6) Their favourite video games include Super Smash Brothers Melee, Zelda, Lester The Unlikely, Donkey Kong Country, Bomberman, NBA Jam and Frogger.

7) When asked, "Would you rather fight 1 horse-sized duck, or 100 duck-sized horses?!",

Tyler answered, "I'm going to go with 100 duck-sized horses. I feel like you could just kick them across a field. I imagine a lot of showdowns going on."

Whereas, Josh answered, "I'll go with the opposite. Because all I have to do is feed it some bread, haahhaaha!"

8) They have bumped into fans in the bathroom.

9) Josh is practicing on his rapping skills. He might perform vocally one day.

10) They said the reason behind the red armbands are "The more and more I got to know the character Blurryface, the more I realized that the color blue was not a part of who he was. And because of that, red represents him on this record."
