1) His real name is Seán William McLoughlin.

2) He is Irish.

3) McLoughlin started his YouTube career in 2012, but started gaining a massive follower base after winning a Pewdiepie shout-out competition in 2013, with his online presence growing after three years.

The nickname "Jack" comes from his childhood. His mother and siblings gave him the nickname because in Ireland, another name of Sean is John, and another way to spell John in Ireland is Jack. The term "SepticEye" also came from his childhood. When he was still in school, he got a severe injury to his eye, which became infected, and his friend began calling him "JackSepticEye" after figuring out that Seán's mother called him Jack.
