S T O I C K
Something about this Freak has changed. Or maybe, I've changed the way I see him.
He either is a threat to Viggo and I, by locking him and tricking I down here, to face our fates under his command, or he is helping us. After all, he did set my wife free.
Valka ran to me the second she saw me, I didn't have time to think before she crashed into me, wrapping her cold hands around my warmth. Not ever noticing the Freak, I slipped my lips onto hers, everything around us evaporated. But we are all human, and happen to need a sudden gust of breath. We slowly pullled away from eachother, then out of the corner of my eye; I noticed the freak standing there; looking at his hands.
Before I can say or do anything, the Freak speaks, letting us know he has to speak to us. Of course, I already knew that.
"I don't think I'm the only one who wants to get out of here, and I didn't do this all to help you for nothing. Will you help me get you and your tribe off of these ships."
"I don't know why you're trying to help us, Freak; but it's not going to work. I've spent long figuring you out; and what you did to Viggo could only be one part of your plan."
"I don't know where you're coming from, but I never meant to harm anybody on your entire island. All I want to do is help you, bring peace with dragons and the islands of the archipelago and get back to my brother."
"Your brother?" I ask, concerned who his brother may be.
"Toothless."
"He's a dragon, Freak!"
"His - his name is Hiccup. Not Freak, Stoick." Valka cuts into the conversation.
"Thanks" the Freak - Hiccup, musters.
"How do you know eachother?"
"Cell neighbors." Valka says, "and there is something I need to talk to you about."
"Which is?"
"He," she points at Hiccup, "is our son."
"VALKA ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!"
"Stoick, hear me out! He says his name is Hiccup, and his dragon told him that he was stolen off an Island called Berk, a Night Fury, his dragon is. He looks about 18, 19ish and thats been like the exact timespan from the year Hiccup was taken. I dont know what the wings and tail meant; but something has to make sense. Stoick... he could be our son.." I stare at her in disbelief; the boy that stands before me. A freak with blood running down his back; and scars that will never fade on his hands from Viggo's shackles, which he silently fumbles with; could be my son.
"Valka, I would hope you would've known that you gave birth to a monster. Wouldn't you have noticed our child had wings and a tail?! He talks to dragons for Thor's sake."
"They, only grew in after he was stolen off of Berk; we wouldn't have known." She closes her eyes, either knowing that she'll be defeated; or that she won't be right.
"Well then. Hiccup, I still don't believe your my son; and I don't have a lot of faith in you at all, but I will do anything to get my tribe back."
"Thank you Stoick." Valka sighs. I wager a side smile her way.
"Lets go; it won't be long before Riker notices his brother is missing." Hiccup says. As if on que; Riker bursts through the door, bee-lining for Hiccup. Hiccup stumbles back, but beats his wings a couple times to stay upright; bits of dry blood spraying off of them.
I run after him; unsheathing my sword. I take my blade in my hand, preparing a nice, chopped serving of Riker. But as if he had eyes on the back of his head, he whips around and blocks the strike, giving enough time for Hiccup to gather his footing and scavenge for a weapon. I hit Riker across the head with the stool, and go off to find Hiccup; knowing he wont make it that much longer, though I barely care for his well being and health, rather; him at all.
I come up to him, his eyes filled with either terror or surprise. I take the shackles around his wrists and pry them apart, the metal clashing with the wooden boards of the deck. He nods at me, before bounding over to Riker and kicking him in the back of the knee. It might not do much, but it's enough for Riker to waver his balance, and stumble a little. Giving me even more time to draw a second sword.
"Frea - Hiccup!" I say, throwing the sword over to him, Hiccup catching it in his hand. I watch him turn around swiftly, wings tucked into his back and his tail dragging on the floor. His horns, uh - ears, are turning this way and that, picking up any signals around. He is covered in a plated armour; black, and a light metal I assume; for he moves lightly on his feet and doesn't have any "weigh-down" problems. He holds the sword in his left hand, and is surprisingly a very skilled swordsman.
I stare in awe, for if he was my son; I should be proud. But then the wings, tail and ears just ruin the whole fact.
If I brought this back to my Island and told them that this freak was my son; I'd be kicked from the tribe for going insane.
Chief is not an easy job, especially when you're told your son is half dragon, and you've been on a hunt to killed him.
SORRY FOR NO POV OF HICCUP THIS CHAPTER; I JUST FELT LIKE STOICK NEEDED TO LET THIS ONE RUN THROUGH. Alsoooo; I was thinking about a way to keep updating smoothly. Maybe every 200-300 early reads before I update the next chapter? Im just thinking outloud here. Or I could just keep updating as I am, write, publish, write, publish. Who knows, I'll see how it goes!😀❤️❤️
