Anyways, I always make a big deal out of this (bc i have to❤️) but I'll leave it at that for todayy:))

A S T R I D

Hiccup turns his head to face me, but he looks.. dead. His face is pale, and I don't get a longer look before his eyes roll back into his head; his eyelids closing. I watch in slow motion as he slides off of Toothless; his wings not unfolding as he plummets further.

I panic; not knowing how to fly a dragon, drawing a blank when trying to remember what Hiccup said back in the arena when we went to go kill the Queen Bee.

I grab hold of his scales; gripping them, and wrapping my arms around his neck, yelling at Toothless to fly faster.

I know I should just trust Toothless, for he can actually speak to Hiccup; but I don't get the feeling that he's going fast enough, until he actually divebombs, my knuckles turning white as I hold onto his neck for dear life. Though it's not until I open my eyes that I see the thrill, and not the danger. I loosen my grip; blood flowing back into my fingers.

Toothless jerks up at the last second; I barely even knowing what just happened. I lean over the side; to see a limp figure of Hiccup in Toothless' paws. I sigh in relief.

"Back to the ships; we'll take him to Berk, Gothi, our healer can help him.. okay Toothless?"

He stops; hesitating, but musters a small warble before moving on.

He lands on the ship, placing Hiccup down first, then moving to the side and dropping himself down next to him; giving me a second to dismount, before beating me to Hiccup's side, nudging him; and cooing. I pat Toothless, knowing he'll watch Hiccup; and I run to get Valka, knowing she'll be a better help than Stoick.

I race below deck; eyeing Valka by a lantern. She sits on the stool; giving me a look of surprise as I run up to her, panting.

"Astrid, lass; what's wrong?!" She stands up and places a hand on my shoulder.

I heave another breath, before managing to speak.

"Hiccup- He's out cold, up on the deck.. he fell off his dragon, though Toothless provides a rescue mechanism within his dragon abilities and he's safe from the waves." I tell her, joking around for the last part though.

"Oh Astrid, you make me laugh sometimes, but Hiccup? He's probably starting to shut down; starvation I may guess." She rummages through a lot of barrels, pulling out some dried food.

"Starving?! Shutting down!?" Can you help him?"

"Shh lass, he'll be okay. We just need to wake him up and give him food; rest will do, then I'm sure Gothi can smooth out the edges."

"Okay, thank you Valka." I start to head up to the deck, but she takes hold of my shoulder; turning me around.

"I truly believe that the boy isn't dangerous by any nature, though he is something we don't know about; even if he is my son. Astrid, he might not be entirely harmless. Remember, he does have a NightFury on his side, and we now know to be prepared for the unpredictable. He has made more than a few enemies in his time."

"Why are you telling me this? It's not like I don't already know."

"Because I don't want you to get caught up in it."

I sigh, before heading up on deck. I spot Stoick by the rudder; and I head towards him.

"We're heading to Berk, right?"

"Well I hadn't been told anywhere else, Lass."

"Okay."

"Astrid?" A feminine voice sounds from behind me. Valka.

"Coming." I head towards her, dragging my feet.
