The day had arrived, we were moving. I felt eerily calm for some reason, I thought I would have more anxiety about it. The boys however were beyond excited, they had been of so much help. Until their tiny bodies couldn't take it any longer and fell asleep draped over each other in the most comfortable spot they could find. Last night came flashing back; "Why don't you guys move some of the bags to door", I had said walking back into my room. Only to find both Mason and Noah cuddled up around Marley on the rug of my bedroom floor. I couldn't get myself to wake them. They looked so peaceful with their chubby cheeks and tiny hands. So I continued rounding up the last of our things.

I threw my legs over my bed as I sat there looking at the floor and my 2 large suitcases lying open by the door. I had showered before bed in the early hours of this morning and it was too early for me to be up once again. I had about five hours of sleep in me. Getting up, I walked over to the clothes I had laid out the night before, putting on black jeans that were ripped at the thighs and knees, with a white crop top and army green parka to match. I then slipped my feet into a pair of white adidas high tops, wiggling my toes around. I'd need my feet as comfortable as possible for the long drive ahead.

Squishing the last of my belongings into my suitcases, I turned and faced my room. I felt like this would be the last time I'd ever call this home and my space. Pushing the strange feeling aside, I called out to my aunt; "Aunty could you help me grab my suitcases? Please!". "Hold your horses there speedy! I'm on my way up" she laughed. I heard each of her distinctive steps, as each foot hit a wooden step. I would miss the sound, or rather I would miss her presence. As she walked into my room she glanced at my suitcases and then her wristwatch. "Excited much Mia?". I took a moment and sat down on my bed. "Sorry. I'd just like to get on the road as early as possible and you know it takes a good few minutes trying to get those boys into a car". She nodded, "Honey it's 6am, the suns not even out yet, there's more than enough time for you to get there before sunset".

I got up and grabbed a suitcase while my aunt grabbed the other. We made our way easily out of my room and down the stairs. Once I reached the bottom, I placed my suitcase on the wooden floor with a light thump, turning around once more to have a look around. This had been my home for the past few years and I would surely miss it.

Once all of our bags were stuffed into the car, I made my way back into the kitchen where the boys and Marley were having their breakfast. I was too nervous to eat this early and I wouldn't want to pull off the road so soon because I wasn't feeling well. "All ready are we guys? We need to say goodbye to Aunty and thank her for having us okay?" Noah nodded and Mason looked like he was on the verge of tears. I walked over to him and hugged him, pulling him close to me. "Don't worry Mase, Aunty promised to come visit real soon and we'll visit her too!" I said enthusiastically, trying to reassure him that everything would be perfectly fine. He looked up at me, wiping his eyes on his new Iron Man hoody and smiled.

I began my mental check of things I may have left behind; cellphone, charger, purse, new makeup bag and contents. Check, check and check! I wanted to physically pat myself on the back for a job well done, but that would just look weird. At that moment my aunt walked into the kitchen. Her facial expression softened as she looked at all of us, her eyes falling on Marley who was eating away at the edge of a cabinet. I swear it seemed like he was teething!

I picked up my cellphone and checked the time, 06:25, we needed to leave soon if we wanted to arrive on time. I wanted us to have enough time to explore the apartment as well as the town so that we could grab a bite to eat before bed. My aunt picked up on my restlessness and went over to the boys to say her goodbyes. I decided that I'd move towards the car, if I didn't do it, it would prolong the sad exchange I was about to witness. Placing my handbag on the floor of the car, I looked up to see my aunt on her knees hugging the twins, who had burst into tears as she held on to them. She told them to behave and that they needed to be strong, so that they could become big wolves and watch over me one day.
