It was Monday morning, I had texted Jasper saying that I wasn't going to school so don't worry about picking me up. I laid on the couch, reading , I had music blaring. A perk of having no one around was you didn't have to worry about people complaining about what you did. The doorbell rang, I ignored it, like I said, I have Kanye.
“EM! COME ON IM ALREADY LATE, HURRY UP!” Jasper's voice yelled from outside, I groaned and got up. I opened the door, I was in a baggy shirt and shorts.
“I'm not going today, I told you that.”
“What?”
“I texted you.”
“Shit, my phone is dead.”
“You didn't have to pick me up, I'm not going.”
“Why? Are you sick or something?”
“Uh, yeah.”
“Hmmm,” Jasper pulled me to him by his wrist gently and pressed the back of his hand to my forehead. “No temperature…” he murmured.
“What?!” He felt around the back of my jaw lightly with his fingers.
“Your lymphnodes arent swollen…”
“I'm dehydrated.” He pinched my arm. “Ow!”
“Your skin bounced back after I pinched you, you aren't severely dehydrated. I'll buy you a water. Get ready, we're already late.”
“I'm not going.”
“Why not?”
“Because.”
“Why?”
“I don't want to panic again!”
Jasper looked shocked at my outburst, his expression softened.
“You'll have to go back eventually.”
“Eventually, but not today.”
“You're more likely to have less stress if you skip, your assignments will pile up.”
“Why do you care?”
Jasper looked shocked, then hurt, I immediately felt horrible, he's always cared. It's Jasper.
“I'm… I'm sorry… I'll go…”
“No no no no no no no! I'm sorry! I'll get ready! I love you, I'm sorry, don't be sad! I'm running up the stairs to get ready now!”
I got ready in three minutes. Record time. I ran back downstairs and outside, I hopped into the truck.
“I'm sorry…” he said gloomily
“No, stop, don't be sad. I'll lick your face.”
“Please no.”
