Jonah leads me to the dance floor and his hand snakes around my back, while keeping my right hand in his left, I raise my left hand to his shoulder. I try not to look so nervous by avoiding eye contact as we sway to the light jazz music.
"You really did an amazing job tonight Sienna I'm actually still blown away. Did I mention you look stunning?"
"Yes you did, and thank you." I laugh, "I really can't thank you and Alexia enough, I'm glad that I agreed to do this." An elder couple slowly sways towards Jonah and I and smiles at us.
"Oh look at the adorable lovebirds Hank!" What?!
"What? Oh no we-" I quickly try to correct the lady but Jonah whispers in my ear.
"It's okay just go with it." He chuckles and I feel my face getting warm. From that moment on I didn't look him in the eye. My heart is fluttering.
Once the party is over Jonah and I talk by the elevator waiting for Alexia. My phone chimes and I ignore it.
"You're not gonna answer?" Jonah says looking down at my purse.
"No it's probably my dad." I shrug just as Alexia meets us at the elevator. Once we get to our floor Jonah steps into his room and Alexia and I enter ours. Alexia is first to shower and I prepare for my turn. She finally comes out of the bathroom and I walk in closing the door behind me and undress. As the warm water hits my body. I have never been so happy, for the first time I have friends. Friends who support me and care about me, never in a million years would I have thought I'd being singing on a stage in front of people. I'm so incredibly happy, so happy that I start singing in the shower. I step out of the shower and wipe the foggy Mirror revealing my bare face. By the time I get out of the bathroom Alexia is already getting ready to lay down in bed.
"Goodnight Sienna." She says in the darkness.
"Goodnight Alexia." I respond but I don't close my eyes. After about thirty minutes my phone chimes and I check to see what messages I'm receiving. After two more chimes my phone vibrates, I quickly look at Alexia and then back at my phone hoping the sound isn't going to wake her. I whisper Alexia's name to see if she's awake but she doesn't respond. With my phone still vibrating I step outside of our room and sit against the wall. "Yes dad?" My mood is ruined.
"Where have you been all night?" I seriously cannot believe him right now.
"I told you that I would be spending a few nights with Alexia and perform for her parents wedding anniversary. How could you forget something so important, something that makes me so happy."
"Yes okay sweetheart. Anyway improving on a business trip tomorrow night for about three days or so." I sigh. My patience is really wearing thin right now.
"Are you serious, you promised you would try harder to spend more time with me. Right now it just seems like you haven't changed from before you fired Josephine, you don't care about what I do or what makes me happy. You show no interest what so ever. How long are you going to keep doing this?"
"I do care darling."
"No you don't! You don't care, I bet you have no clue how I feel. Well guess what I don't care what you do anymore, go on your stupid trip and don't come home for days, ha lets see if I care." I whisper loudly.
"Watch how you talk to me young-" and at that I just hang up on him. A sigh escapes my lips. I see a dark figure sit next to me.
"I'm so so sorry. Did I wake you?" I look to Jonah.
"Your not exactly the best at keeping your voice down, at 11 o'clock, while people are tying to sleep."
"Ok ok I get it. I'm sorry." I stop him before he adds on.
"Soo.. You okay?"
"Uh yeah it was just my dad. I'll be fine though." I fake a smile under the dim hallway lights. "We don't really get along, he's not really around and he doesn't even try to take interest in what important to me. It would be so nice if he would just ask how my day was. Anything. " I vent.
"I'm sure your dad cares, he probably just has a hard time expressing it."
"I guess."
"You always have Alexia and I. You can always talk to us and know that we'll listen." His words instantly bring a smile to face. What he said is so true and I'm so thankful to have two friends I can depend on. I rest my head on Jonah's shoulder and close my eyes,
"Thank you."
A few moments later I fall asleep but I feel my hair brushing against my face
Jonah's POV
I try not to laugh when I see that Sienna has fallen asleep on my shoulder, again. I really do feel sorry for her, all she wants is just a little attention and some love. Seeing her sing tonight was just amazing she's so beautiful. That dress was, man it was beautiful. And dancing with her oh god. I know I haven't known her that long but I'm into her. Too bad she doesn't feel the same. I look down at her sleeping and I brush the hair out of her face. Even without make up she looks like an angel."Sienna? Why are you out here? Where's-" I cut her off placing my finger over my mouth telling her to be quiet.
"She's asleep."
"Well she's gonna have to wake up she can't just sleep out here."
"I know but she was upset and she just needs a few minutes." I explain. We wait a while and it's probably 12:30 now. I still decide not to wake Sienna and I just carry her inside of their suite. Cautious not to wake her with my movements I walk slowly and steadily to her bed and lay her down. After she's all tucked in I let out a deep breath turning around to Alexia and I can see the expression she has on her face through the darkness. "What?"
"What's with you two?"
"Nothing." I say walking past her.
"Yeah okay." She says laughing.
"Whatever." I know exactly what she's thinking. I don't even want to talk to her about it, I just want to get to my room now.
"Cya" she says and I walk out of their room into mine. My fingers are ruffling through my hair. Sienna in that dress keeps coming up in my head. Trying to brush it off I throw myself into bed and slam one of the big pillows on my face.
