Alexia's POV
Tomorrow is the day of the wedding anniversary I planned for my parents. Sienna is sleeping over my house tonight and I'm so excited!"So, how are things with you and Jonah?" I ask suddenly in the middle of us painting our nails.
"What do you mean? We're just friends so things are just fine I guess." She laughs lightly.
"Are you kidding he's so cute, he's so into you!"
"No no no, there's no way. We don't even know each other that well I swear we're just friends. I doubt there's any feelings sparking up." She blushes, "Gosh it's getting hot." She fans at her face and looks down.
"Yeah sure okay. So you're saying you're not attracted to him? You don't think he's cute?" I press her for more details.
"Well not really, I mean yes I think he's cute but I don't really know how feel about him." Sienna smiles and looks at the floor.
"Liar! There's something else tell me! You have to tell me!"
"Fine okay. Well it the first day we practiced, on the way to my place. I fell asleep on his shoulder."
"That's it?" I say slightly sad that it wasn't something bigger, I need to help make this happen.
"Well I didn't know I fell asleep on his shoulder so it was really embarrassing. So when we arrived to my house I was getting out of the car and he called me sleeping beauty, he's just so flirty and I didn't know what to do so I just laughed it off and walked inside my house. That was it."
"Oh. My. God. He so likes you! I could even tell when you guys sing together!"
"Oh stop it!! Ok so let's just say that I like him, I still don't think he likes me back and I wouldn't plan on telling him I like him any time soon. Maybe not at all. But enough about me! Is there anyone you have your eye on?" Sienna quickly attempts change the conversation.
"Yes but it's complicated, I met this guy a while ago at school and he's super cute, his name it Grant." I tell her.
"So what's complicated?" She asks me and furrows her eyebrows in confusion.
"My parents are actually setting me up to be married to this guy that I've known for a while but I'm just not into him."
"Married?!"
"Yeah I told you it complicated. Edward has liked me ever since middle school and our parents support us 100% and they see us with a future. But I don't love him! Don't get me wrong he's really kind and all its just that he's so clingy and everything I do he has to be there and it's so frustrating because I have to put on this so show like I like him and that I us having some kind of future but I just feel so trapped." I look down trying to hold back small tears, this is a sensitive subject for me.
"Alexia I'm so sorry."
"It's alright I guess nothing can be done."
I quickly turn on the tv and stuff my face with popcorn.
The next day, Sienna and I wake up in my room and begin to get ready. I put on a pastel pink dress from Neiman Marcus and some white Louboutins. I put on the silver bracelet and necklace from Tiffanys and do light makeup. When me and Sienna are finished getting ready, Liza gives us a small breakfast.
Thomas rings the doorbell at 12:45 and we then proceed to drive over to Jonah's house. We pick him up and head over to the Hamptons at around 2pm.
We arrive in the Hamptons about an hour and a half later and go over to the venue where the party will be held. I walk inside with my clipboard and look at the decorators and bakers and everyone I hired at work. I try to give Jonah and Sienna a quick tour of the place.
"No, no the banner should be here!" I say to one of the girls on the decorating crew and leave my 2 friends in the middle of the room.
After I fix the banner issue, I find Sienna and Jonah and then we head into the kitchen. The chef gives us appetizers and entrees to taste beforehand and desserts. After making sure those are perfect, I go to the front entrance and give the security guard the guest list. I sit in a chair and sigh in relief.
At 4 pm, the reception starts. The guests start to arrive and fill up the large venue. The event is going nicely. My parents arrive and everyone yells happy anniversary and all that. My parents sit at the table assigned to them in the front of the room. A slideshow plays of pictures of them since they met and it's Sienna and Jonahs cue to perform. I sit down at the table with my parents and finally breathe after so much effort that I put into planning this party for my parents. Even though they aren't around a lot, I still love them and appreciate them. I wanted to give them this party before they go on their 2 week vacation to Mykonos.
The reception ends at around 9 and I finally meet up with Sienna and Jonah. They got to spend the whole night together and I hope that something good happened between them. I wish I could have seen Grant today.. I didn't want to admit it until recently but I do really like him. This arranged marriage with Edward is awful and if there is any way to escape it, I will. I hope one day I can find a love as strong as my parents but for now, that seems pretty impossible.
After Sienna and Jonahs performance, I see Sienna head over to the bar. I could use a drink as well. I walk over and sit in the stool next to her.
"I'll have a glass of Chardonnay." I say to the bartender who then nods and pours me a glass. I turn to Sienna, "How are you feeling now?"
"I'm good ! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be." She smiles to herself, I can tell she's proud of herself.
I was beginning to say something else to Sienna when I'm cut off by someone behind me. I turn around. Edward. Again? He would attend this party with his parents just to find an excuse to talk to me. I scoff.
"Edward.... I didn't expect you to be here," I say honestly and clear my throat, "Um Edward, this is my friend Sienna. Sienna this is Edward."
They shake hands and then Jonah comes over and begins to talk to Sienna. I leave them alone to talk and order a glass of vodka on rocks. I know I'm 17 and I shouldn't be drinking but hey, my parents encourage it. They think drinking wine and the occasional martini or shots is classy for a woman so I don't object. Edward is still sitting next to me so I make a quick excuse to leave him.
I find an old friend of mine, Mason standing by the dance floor, I guess I'll go talk to him.
