Alexia's POV
It's only 6 pm but I start getting ready for bed. I grab my silk pajama's and head to my bathroom to take a shower. I do all the hygiene stuff like lotion, deodorant, brush my hair, etc. I brush my teeth and go back into my room. My phone vibrates so I grab it off my dresser and check who texted me. Edward. Why can't he understand I don't like him? And it isn't like I haven't told him I don't like him in that way.Edward Howard: goodnight beautiful, can't wait to see you on Saturday x Ed
I roll my eyes and don't even bother replying. Eventually I fall into a deep sleep.
I wake up the next day and head into my closet. I grab a small red dress and a black Kate Spade purse. I go over to my vanity and do my makeup and hair. Once I finish getting ready, I head downstairs for breakfast.
I go into the kitchen and grab a yogurt with a handful of berries. I sit at the empty table and eat in silence. I hate this. The only thing my parents care about is our social status and having a lot of money. The mansion, the limo, the Hamptons vacation house, the name brand clothing, they only care about money. Family should be more important than all of this. To top it off, I'm an only child. I wish I had a sibling or a dog or something to keep me company. My eyes widen, I'm gonna buy a dog today. I run upstairs and grab my wallet and backpack and rush into the limo.
"Thomas! Let's go to the nearest pet store."
I end up buying a small Beagle and a Pomeranian. yup, 2 dogs. I buy the leashes, food bowls, food, and everything else you need for a pet. I even buy some cute clothing for them since they are both girls.
I decide to name the Pomeranian, Lila and the Beagle, Lola.
After Thomas drops me off at school, I tell him to go back to the house, put the dogs in the extra bedroom across the hall from mine and start potty training them.
I enter school and go to my English class. I quickly take a seat and Grant sits next to me once again.
"Hello." He says and turns to look at me.
"Hi, it's nice to see you again." I say and turn red. Are you kidding Lex, you're going to see him everyday of the school year. I quickly look down. A girl sits on the opposite side of me. I turn and face her.
"Hello, I'm Kasey." She says and shakes my hand.
"Alexia, nice to meet you."
Class begins and it's as boring as you. can imagine. But, me being part of the Taylor family, I have to succeed in school and extracurriculars.
Class ends after what feels like forever and Kasey asks for my number. We exchange numbers, along with me and Grant. I say a quick goodbye to them and head to my next classes.
School finally ends and I wait outside for Thomas once again to take me to my dance class.
*4 hours later* I come outside of my dance studio, sweaty and disgusting. I pull my long brown hair up into a high ponytail and get into the car when he pulls up.
We arrive home and I enter the house.
"Alexia Rose Taylor ! What were you thinking buying 2 dogs today?!" My mom yells as soon as I walk in the door.
"I was thinking that since you and dad are never home, I should have someone here to keep me company!!" I yell just as loud as she did.
She huffs and crosses her arms, "Take those dogs into your room and keep them there."
I roll my eyes and walk upstairs. I open the spare bedroom and pick up my 2 puppies off the ground. I put their giant beds in one corner of my room along with their toys, food and water, and pee pads. My room is pretty large so I consider buying a dog house large enough for them to both fit in with all their things. I look online and find a really large, cute house for them and order it. Whoops it cost $200! I proceed to my daily night routine and then try fall asleep. 4 days until this social gathering. 4 days until I have to attend this event with Edward Howard. 4 days until I have to put on a fake smile and pretend to be part of such a happy family.
All I can do is think. I look at my clock, 12:56 am. I sigh, I feel like I'm forgetting something. Shit. My parents anniversary party! I forgot mom asked me to plan it 3 weeks ago. She wants it to be perfect, nothing out of place. I jump up in my bed and grab my laptop. I start creating the invitations on this website that prints a bunch. I grab my phone and dial the Hamptons to host an event in one of their grand venues. I book the space for 6pm- midnight. I use my own credit card to pay for this which I regret because it was $1800 to rent this room and make the invitations only. What do I still need? Ah, catering, music, tables and chairs, gifts, and I need to send these invitations to the 800 people I put on the invite list 2 weeks ago. Maybe someone at school can sing or something at the party. And maybe someone from school has a parent with a really good catering company. Okay Alexia, tomorrow at school you have a mission.
