Rants About Clichés

       The original title of this chapter was going to be, "Rants About Clichés That Rant About Clichés".

Now I don't know about you guys, but I've seen lots of rants on Wattpad that complain about the insane amounts of clichés that are infecting Wattpad like an actual virus.

I'm not saying I don't agree with them, I 100% do agree with them, the clichés must be stopped at all costs (REBELLION).

But... considering the amount of rants I see about this issue and the number of people who comment on those rants saying:

"OMG SO TRUE!"
"Yass omg the clichés are annoying af"
"Forreal, why can't anyone be original?"

I'm stuck wondering why there are still so many cliché books.

Because, let's be real here, for some odd and twisted reason, people demand originality and creativity because they can't stand the cliches, right? Well if you're so annoyed by them then why do you continue to read them and praise the people who write them? (Or write them yourself?)

If so many people are so "bothered" by it then why do they continue to sit by and let those books dominate Wattpad?

And I've seen so many books that are genuinely original and well-written, with amazing characters and plot development, with hardly any notice. Yet, all of the same books get endless recognition. And if you're still confused, I mean books like this:

The Single and Hot Bad Boy and The Awkward and Gorgeous Nerd
The Player and The Outcast
My Dominant Alpha Male
Billionaire's Slave (and for some reason the billionaire is always a hot single guy in his 20s who has some sort of social issue)
Vampire Werewolf Love Triangle
I Fell in Love With My Teacher (ew)
My Roommate of The Opposite Gender Because That's A Thing Now
Extremely Possessive Bad Boy Which I Think Is Romantic (get yourself some help)
Mafia Leader and His Lover

et cetera

By the way, if this is a title to anyone's book (which I don't think it is) I'm sorry, I was making stuff up, if I did steal it, just let me know and I'll change it.

So basically what I'm saying is, if you hate them so much, ignore them, don't fuel their fire, write your own original stories that people will be genuinely interested to read, don't go dropping vote bombs for the sake of it or if the author asked you to (don't vote for something because someone said to do it, vote for it if you think it's good).

I SAY WE START A CREATIVE AND ORIGINAL REBELLION.

BY THE WAY THE NEW BOOK I'M WORKING ON IS ALMOST READY I'M STOKED FOR THIS. (I was considering entering it in the Wattys but two weeks is not long enough for me to do entire character development and stuff).
