Chapter Five - Charles Dervish

Ten minutes later, Mr. King's lawyer finished writing out the added clause.

"There," Mr. King's lawyer said, "Mr. Dervish, sign here please and then you can be on your way." He passed the page over to Charles. Charles signed on the dotted line, completely unaware he had just signed his life away. He set the pen down.

"Well, I'd best be on my way I have a train to catch by 6:30, Charles reached over the desk and shook Mr. King's hand, "Nice doing business with you Richard," Charles straightened.

"Would you like me to call one of my servants to escort you out?" Mr. King offered.

"No, that's quite alright I can find my way out," replied Charles. He exited the office and left the property, then called another carriage that took him to Chicago Union Station.
