Christopher Knight sat in his compartment watching people come and go from the station. He was thinking about how he was going to murder Charles Dervish. His employer, Mr. King, had managed to get a compartment situated next to Mr. Dervish's. All I have to do is slit his throat while he sleeps. The tricky part is what comes next. After Charles is dead, someone is bound to find the body and because I am right here next to him, I will be the prime suspect or the best witness. Neither of which I want involvement in. So, in order to be able to escape I need to murder Dervish right before we stop at the first city on the route. Fortunately, it will be dark when we stop so I can simply get the job done and be on my way! Christopher smiled to himself. Then he heard a noise outside his compartment, he looked out into the corridor and saw Mr. Dervish himself standing there waiting for the porter that had come with him to finish putting his bags above in the rack. After the porter finished Mr. Dervish handed him a dollar.
"Thank you!" the man exclaimed bowing. Dervish smiled and nodded. The man scurried off grinning happily. Christopher stepped out into the hall and extended his hand to Dervish.
"Hello, I'm Christopher Knight," Christopher introduced himself.
"Hello, I'm Charles Dervish. Nice to meet you Mr. Knight." said Mr. Dervish shaking his hand
"Well, I'll let you get back to whatever it is you're doing," said Christopher turning to leave.
"Oh, I'm not busy at all! Why don't you join me for a nice tumbler of scotch and some dinner?" Mr. Dervish offered.
"I would love to," accepted Christopher. They walked to the dining car together where they sat down and drank and talked. More than once Christopher noticed a lovely young woman staring at Dervish while they were talking, he ignored her though thinking nothing of her infatuation. Soon it became dark.

"Well," Dervish said standing, "It's been nice talking to you, but it's late so I'd best be going to bed so I don't look tired for my meeting."
Christopher stood up with him, "I'll walk you to your compartment." Once they arrived in front of their compartments they spoke a few more words to each other.
Dervish opened his door and stepped inside, "Have a good night." But, before he could close the door Christopher stuck his foot in the way preventing the door from closing completely. He looked down both sides of the hall and upon seeing no one he shoved the door open knocking Dervish to the floor. Christopher towered over him.
"Wha-What are you doing!?" Sputtered Dervish as he crawled backward away from Christopher.
"Nothing," Christopher said innocently, "Just doing my job," he grinned wickedly. Then his fist connected with Dervish's skull and he was out cold.
