Morning light streamed in from the window, as Rebecca took in the horrid sight before her. She had seen this man at dinner and had wanted to meet him so she had followed him and his companion. This afternoon, she had decided go to his compartment to see if the wanted to go to lunch with her. When she reached the compartment she had seen him unlock last night she knocked on the door, no answer. So, she knocked again, no answer, she knocked once more and when he didn't answer yet again she tried the door. She found it unlocked so she opened it and stepped inside. That's where she found him. Sprawled on his back, blood pouring out of his throat. Upon closer inspection, she found someone had most likely slashed open his jugular vein with a blade. She ran out of the room in search of the conductor. She found him sitting on his little bench looking down the corridor.

"Sir! Sir!" she cried, "There is a dead man in compartment No. 7! Come quick! Come quick!" The man jumped up, eyes wide. "Follow me," said Rebecca. She ran off in the direction she came, the conductor close behind.

When they reached Mr. Dervish's compartment again the conductor looked in and gasped, "Oh my god! Charles Dervish has been murdered!" then the man fainted dead away. Rebecca rolled her eyes then looked back in the room.

"My god, it is him! I don't believe it!" she whispered. When the conductor came to Rebecca asked him if they could keep this private so her brother in New York could work on the case. He obliged and said that she could keep the crime scene as it was for her brother.
