Summary:
Golem [goh-luh m, -lem] –n. A figure artificially constructed in the form of a human being and endowed with life.

Golems can be made of many forms and materials, each with unique attributes. While there are many golems that are made from precious metals such as silver or gold, the most common golem is crafted clay and other more common materials.

Despite the many types and materials used to make golems, there is one thing that every golem has in common. In order to receive this 'life', the word "Emeth" (or "Emet" in some translations) must be written on them. "Emeth" is the 'truth' by which all things are known and all things are acknowledged. The 'Truth' is the key to life.

Ed knew it hadn't always been like this in Amestria. Thousands of years ago, Amestria had been ruled by a Fuhrer and his military. What changed that, Edward didn't know. Much of that history had been lost in the sands of time.

Review:
Another awesome fic I found, and this one is actually finished!! This author made her own world, so it'll be kinda hard to explain. Artisans- people who make things by hand- are kind of like the alchemist in this world. Many people are a artisan- they are called golem lords- they make many things by hand and many of them can make golems. Golems are items that can move and follow orders; they can be people, animals, or suits of armor. There is a test that golem lords can take every year and they can be hired into a guild. Different guilds have different classes (think of them as teams under the command of different ranked commanders in the military); the S-class guilds (there are 3) are the strongest (think of it like General's team). Then the A-class (Colonel), then B, then C, and last is D- class... I think.
Okay, on to the story now. Ed's dad left, mother died, and his brother got sick like their mom, so he works with a low class guild to make money for food and Alphonse's medicine. While at work one day, the tree outside of the house gets struck by lightning and the house catches fire. Al got stuck in the house before Ed could save him. Al dies and Ed gets burned really bad on his right arm. In pain, both physically and emotionally, Ed accidentally performs the sacrificial rite. The rite requires the bones of a person, which turns the dead person into a half golem, half human; they remembered their lives, but they don't have emotions, they can't feel, sleep, or eat. So Ed wants to join a S-class guild to gain access to the S-class library to get Geppetto's book to turn Al back human again (yes like the Pinocchio story with a few twist, Geppetto was the first golem lord). Ed gets into Mustang's A-class guild, but guilds can move up in rank, so Ed stays with his guild hoping to move up in the rank when he runs into the sins. The sins are the failed puppets before Pinocchio.
The rest you have to read for yourself. This story was really really good, the only thing that can improve it would be to continue and add more into it. Honestly, good diction, good story, really awesome and detailed world building, and an awesome interpretation from original FMA story line. It has 23 chapters and 68k+ words. Go, read, now!
