This is quick.
Today was long and very boring. When the final bell rang, I hurried out to meet my friends by our lockers upstairs. I skipped up the stairs and approached them. We spoke for a little bit before I started walking away, aiming to go outside and meet some more friends to walk home with. While I was exiting our "pod" I came across my best friend going the opposite way. I stopped and said hello but told him I couldn't talk long as if I didn't leave then, my friends would leave without me.
"Whatever, I don't want to hear it," my best friend said.
"But I-" I began before he cut me off.
"Just stop. Just stop, I'm done with you," he said, trying not to laugh.
I turned around and began walking away slowly, looking down as if I was hurt by his words.
"Hey wait... c'mon" he said kindly.
I looked back slightly but kept walking.
"I love you..." he said in a friendly tone, trying to get me to stop. And I did. I turned around for just for a moment to look at him. He smiled warmly and I smiled back. He tried to step towards me but I just turned back around and kept walking, my heart beginning to beat faster. If I didn't walk away, I would've easily said/done more than I should have; so I left it at that.
And as I walked away from the only boy who can make me feel that way, I whispered carefully to myself.
"I love you too."
