I still haven't done it. But technically it's already done.
My boyfriend and I don't talk. Never see each other. He doesn't look at me in the hallways. So now I'm assuming he's just no longer "my boyfriend". He's just a friend.
Nothing's really happened with my best friend lately. We haven't seen each other much.
But I aside from all this, there are a few interesting things that have happened.
About two weeks ago my friend Elexa invited my best friend, Lizzie, and I to the Hunger Games and Catching Fire premiere at a movie theatre right near our houses. I happily accepted the invitation and became more and more excited as the days passed, getting closer to the big day.
One day in chemistry I was speaking about the premier to my friend Josh. I quickly learned how obsessed he was with the trilogy and new movies and that he wanted to go very badly. I happily invited him and on Monday he messaged me on Facebook saying that him and his friend Bradley were coming.
Josh. He stands at 6'1 and has soft brown hair with bright blue eyes. Light freckles scatter the bridge of his nose and his smile is contagious. He never fails to make me laugh and that is a fact.
All day yesterday I could barely sit still, trying to contain my excitement. When fourth period (chemistry) came along Josh and I hardly did any work and instead spoke of what was to come that night. Elexa, Lizzie, and I were heading to the theatre directly after school ended at 3pm, meaning we'd have two hours to spare. Josh told me they were planning to be there at 4:30-ish.
When we arrived at the theatre there were only four other people in line. We sat waiting, playing would you rather, until they'd let us in at about 3:40. They gave us each a lanyard and a dog tag engraved with "District 12 Victor". We took our seats in the middle of the farthest back row and spoke of our excitement. At 4:24 we decided to get drinks before it became too crowded. Elexa and I volunteered (so punny) to go while Lizzie stayed back to save our seats. As we were walking out we saw Josh and Brad entering and turned back around to show them our seats. I ran up the steps and took my seat then patted the one next to me for Josh. He sat down and we began talking while Lizzie and Elexa left to fulfill our original plan of buying beverages.
When the movie started Lizzie was to my left and Josh to my right. Having had watched the movie over 30 times, we were quoting every line word by word. It was hard to hear so I often had to ask Josh to repeat himself and every time I did he would lean very close and whisper what he had said.
"What?" I asked at one point.
"I said Jennifer Lawrence is beautiful," he whispered in my ear. He was so close I could feel his breath on my neck and I shivered.
"Oh yeah, I know right? She's gorgeous," I replied shakily.
For most of the first movie I had my right arm halfway on Josh's armrest while his left arm was also there. He only would move to drink water or say something to Brad who was on his right. I smiled at the small but meaningful contact.
There was a thirty minute break before the actual premiere of Catching Fire. At this time we decided to run over to a gas station across the road to get some chips and more water/tea. It was freezing cold and by the time we got back out cheeks were bright red. Who knew boys could look so hot in such freezing temperatures?
By now we had about 15 more minutes until the previews would start. We headed back up the stairs to our seats but as I approached mine I saw Brad was sitting there next to Lizzie. I gave him a puzzled look and asked him to move many times but he refused. I didn't feel like arguing so I left it at all and sat in his old spot next to Josh. They began talking about sports and I let them do so until Brad said my name.
"Yeah?" I said casually.
"Do you like baseball?" He asked.
"Eh sort of. I'm more of a hockey girl," I said truthfully. I loved watching hockey. Brad smiled wide and held up his hand for a high five and I obeyed his hand movement.
"Nice dude!" He said.
"I told you dude. When I found that out a while ago I was like 'aw man this girls awesome,'" Josh said to Brad.
"She's got a boyfriend bro," Brad replied, laughing a bit.
"I know... it sucks," Josh sighed. I coughed a little, trying to take away the blush that was spreading across my cheeks.
"Actually not anymore," I pitched in quietly.
"Wait what?" Josh looked at me with a slight glimmer in his blue eyes. I was about to explain the situation to him but Lizzie had begun talking to me about how she wanted me to sit by her. It was clear that Brad wanted to make a movie on her but Lizzie being her oblivious self did not realize this. I tried to give her "a look" and send telepathic messages about what I was thinking but that clearly did work not as she continued to beg me to switch seats. Fortunately for me Brad eventually agreed and got up, saying something about how weird girls were.
A little ways into Catching Fire, Josh leaned forward in his seat, trying to free his back from sitting in the same position for about three hours now. I decided to be a smart ass and copy him, leaning forward as well. He looked at me confused and shifted a bit then noticed my similar movements and quickly realized what I was doing. I kept doing so for only about a minute more before bursting out in giggles. He laughed an nudged me playfully before leaning back into his seat.
When it was time to go I said a quick goodbye and told him to message me on Facebook.
As soon as I got home around 10:55 I threw on my pajamas and jumped into bed with my iPod in hand. I opened facebook messenger to see a new message from Josh.
We spoke for a while about the movie and how we were going to try and get Lizzie and Brad together. Eventually he wanted to go to bed and we ended with this...
Josh: I'm going to bed. Thanks for letting me go with you guys :)
Me: Of course, thanks for coming :)
Josh: Stay beautiful
I paused and stared at the message, trying to come up with a reply when I received another message.
Josh: (talking about Katniss)
I laughed and set my iPod down, closing my eyes and preparing to drift off to sleep with one thing on my mind...
Who was really talking about?
