"Marie.."
"Yes Hazel, what is it that you want" I looked up at my older sister.
She's been bothering me all day. Getting on my every nerves, interrupting my research and studying. I'm not really in the mood today, I've had a long day and she knows this. But it seems like every Friday she's an battery bunny, never run out of energy.
"You wanna go out with me tonight?"
"No I don't" I replied simply looking back at my laptop screen.
"Why not?"
She came into my room sitting on my bed.
"Because you know I have a big exam tomorrow. And then I need to memorize some stuff for the sorority, you know it's been a lot today"
"Marie" she took a pause
"you have all good grades and I'm pretty sure you'll make the sorority line. You just stress yourself out entirely too much honey. And on top of that, your birthday is on Monday"
"Okay I have good grades , so I'm just supposed to let them slip and go down, no. An I just wanna make sure I know everything I'm supposed to"
"All I'm saying is, you're up tight as hell for a 20 year old. You don't do nothing but work, sit in here and study or listen to music" She said walking out of the room going into hers.
"Have a little fun sometimes, I'm your older sister I just wanna this butterfly spread its wings and fly" she said laughing coming back into the room with two dresses laying them on the bed.
"Is this the dress that I showed you I wanted for my birthday?" I said examining the dresses on my bed.
One was kinda see with an detailed rhinestone and lace design. It was absolutely beautiful to me , unlike any thing I've worn, the other dress was black and see through designed with gold and mid length, it's cute.
"Yes it is ma'am. The two hundred and fifteen dollar dress that you wanted. I got it for you as an early birthday gift and something you can go out in, plus these shoes nothing major ordered them from fashion nova"
I began to be intrigued, she brought the dress I said I wanted. I wasn't going to it because it's over a hundred dollars and I don't have that type of money to be splurging on such an item.
"Where's mom and dad do they know where going out?" I said saving everything on my computer and closing it down.
"Marie seriously do they have to know? We are grown, we iont gotta run nothing by them no more. You act as if your still sixteen or something" she said looking into my full body mirror pulling her up into a knotted bun.
"No it's not even like that , you know dad be tripping and i honestly don't wanna hear his mouth when we come in late , because it's already 9:47" I said touching the dress she got me
"Don't worry about it Marie everything will be fine damn, you bug entirely too much , just go with the flow tonight"
"I may have to be the flow and you may have to follow me" I said putting my long curly hair up into a bun still sitting on my bed watching Hazel shuffle around.
