"Girl, it's easy to love me now
Would you love me if I was down and out?
Would you still have love for me?
Girl, it's easy to love me now
Would you love me if I was down and out?
Would you still have love for me?"

Chapter9

"MARIE MARIE"
Hazels voice woke me up from out my sleep.
Damnit I was sleeping good.

"Hmm?"

"Girl get up, we're gonna be late for class today"
I almost forget we had class today, I definitely over slept, me and Chris didn't get back until around one in the morning yesterday.
We took our time eating and enjoying the meal. Conversation was great I learned a lot about him, even more than what I intended.
What was clear to me is that he's a family man, through in and through out he'll do anything for his family.

"I'm up"
I sat up on the bed and got out walking into the bathroom turning the water on wetting my tooth brush.

Chris is the type of guy that'll do anything for his family. He told me that his parents passed away but he didn't tell me how nor did he tell me exactly what he did for money but he damn sure has a lot of it to be taking me to a restaurant like that.

"Marie hurry yo ass up, we have only thirty minutes to spare"
I finished brushing my teeth and then washed and moisturized my face, throwing my hair up in a loose bun and back into my room.
I decided on putting on my light pink polo jogging suit and light pink and white air max 97s, something quick. I grabbed my bag that already had my notebooks in it and my phone, charger an keys.

"I'm coming down"

I said before closing and locking my door turning off the hall way light.

"Pass me a banana"
I said to a Hazel that's sitting at the kitchen table biting at an Granny Smith Apple.
She tossed me a banana.

"Ard come on"
We turned off the lights in the house and closed and locked the door. Hopping into the Mercedes Benz truck that my parents left.
She turned the car on and pulled out the drive way.
"I said yes to your number
And yes to you dating me
Yes we can be together
But you gotta wait for me
The first time I say no
It's like I never said yes
It's like I never said yes
I said yes we can be together
Yes you can stay with me
But when I say no not tonight
You actin' so ungratefully
The first time I say no
It's like I never said yes"
I looked over to a humming Hazel

"Old Beyoncé? You in yo thoughts about something huh?"
She giggled

"Nah I just like this song, you gotta admit Beyoncé's oldies are better than her new ones"
I nodded my head she has a point.

"...but then again"

"Owl man what's on yo dome?"
She always does this when she's in her feelings about something. She turns on music that reflects her mood.

"Marie I don't know he's just a asshole but he's my asshole"

"Who bitch?"

"Ray"
I mentally rolled my eyes.
She said referring to her First Love. She met him in the 10th grade and he wasn't no good an he's definitely no good now, but he still find a way to pop back up in Hazels when he wants.

"Yeah he FaceTimed me yesterday night when you went to sleep" she made a sharp turn.

"What he say now Hazel?"

"That he missed me and he was truly sorry about what he did. He said he'll change for me because he's realizing that I'm the realist female he's ever had on his side"
I thought about what she said for a moment before responding.

"How can you be sorry for something that you keep doing. You can't just say sorry and think that's gonna fix something. That's like if I throw a glass plate and it shatters then I say sorry to it, Is it gonna magically fix itself? No it's not!"

"But.."

"Unt-uh Hazel he's done you dirty on plenty of occasions. And I know what you're about to say, just because he's your first love doesn't mean anything. That first love thing doesn't always end with marriage and a baby. Sometimes a first love is supposed to teach you what not to do in love,
your first love but not your last love."
She looked at me but back to the road ahead

"I'm just saying"
