Friendship At First Sight (The Philosopher's Stone)

Chapter 2

A owl with the color of sand with brown spots soared in the sky as it held two letters with it's claws before letting it go, landing on top of the Dursley's chimney and watching as the letters slipped through the mail slot, hooting as it folded it's wings. 

Dudley stood in front of the fireplace in a maroon tailcoat, orange knickerbockers, a straw boater, and a gnarled cane, his uniform of Smeltings and the cane is to whack other students behind the teacher's back, to 'prepare them for the future' "Oh smile" Petunia said as she took a picture of him, "Vernon, just look at him" Petunia said as they both wore bright smiles on their faces, "I can't believe it"

The twins walked over and stood next to their aunt and uncle and looked at their cousin's uniform, "Just a week and you'll be off to Smeltings" Petunia added with a sniff, "Can be at the snow all morning, my proudest moment of my life" Vernon commented.

"Will we have to wear that too?" Harry asked with a sort of grimace on his face as Mia was trying not to laugh at how silly the uniform looked. Vernon and Petunia turned towards them with a grimace at the thought of them going to Smeltings. "You two? Going to Smeltings?" Petunia asked and Harry nodded, immediately Vernon let out a honk of laughter, Petunia laughed loudly and Dudley chuckled with amusement.

"Don't be so stupid, you two are going to go to a state school where you belong" Petunia said as she walked over to the kitchen, Harry and Lea trailing after her, watching as she picked up some wet grey clothes from a large put of boiling water and gray dye inside, "This is what you're going to be wearing and I'm almost done dyeing it"

"But that's Dudley's old uniform" Harry said, motioning to the pot, "It will fit us like old elephant skin" Lea added with a grimace at the smell and the clothes. "It will fit you two well enough" Petunia said with a frown, to Harry, she commanded, "Go get the post. Go!"

Harry led the kitchen and walked into hall and towards the four letters laying on the ground, leaning down as he picked it up, he glanced at the first one, which was a postcard from Vernon's sister, Marge, on her vacations, the second one was the bill for the house, and the last two are what caught his eye. On the front of the third and fourth letter was: 

'Mr. H Potter.The Cupboard under the Stairs. 4, Privet Drive. Little Whinging. Surrey'

'Ms. A Potter. The Cupboard under the Stairs. 4, Privet Drive. Little Whinging. Surrey'

Harry stood shocked at the letters but glanced into the kitchen where The Dursleys and Lea were waiting, he just turned and walked back into the kitchen. Still looking down at the letter directed to him, he gave Vernon the other two letters and gave his sister the letter with her name on it, her eyes grew wide as she looked at the letter, standing beside her brother. Vernon and Petunia paid no attention at them but Dudley did as he watched the letter in their hands. 

"Oh Marge is ill. That's sort of funny, well-"

Before Vernon could continue, Dudley jumped from his seat and snatched his cousin's letters, saying "Dad, look! Harry and Lea got a letter!", returning towards his eat and handing the letters to his father while Lea yelled, "Give those back! That's ours!" 

Vernon chuckled as Petunia came over and leaned down to look at the letters over his shoulder, "Yours? Who'd be writing to you two?" He turned to look at the front of the letters before turning them to look at a crest of a lion, snake, eagle and badger with an H in the middle and below it ' Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus'  and 'Hogwarts' above the crest on the back of the letters, he stopped chuckling at seeing the crest and looked at Petunia in shock and worry, then all of the three Dursleys looking at the Potters. Petunia for a second didn't see Harry and Lea, but a young James and Lily Potter, but blinked and she saw her niece and nephew again. Harry and Lea gulped and stared nervously at their uncle and aunt for they had never seemed this confer with them involved.
