"Go up there!"
"Why do I have to?!"
"Because you were the one to suggest it!"
Lea walked up to Susan and Hannah, who were standing at the bottom of the boy's dormitory stairs, already in her uniform and robes. She decided to leave behind her messenger bag, for she doesn't know what her classes of the day were going to be, and didn't wish to have her back hurting form carrying all her books around.
"But Suze!" Hannah cried out, "What if they're changing?!" The girl's face turned a crimson red when she said that.
"Then you knock on the door!" Susan retorted, "Look, they're just boys and not dragons so stop complaining and go up those stairs"
Hannah opened her mouth but was silenced by the brunette's glare and looked at Lea for some help, but the girl shot her a sympathetic look. She sighed before trudging up the stairs, wiping her hands down her robes with every step she took.
"What was that about?" Lea asked as soon as Hannah was out of their sight.
"Justin still isn't up and we don't wanna be late in getting our timetables and for breakfast, y'know, most important meal of the day"
"I hope we get Charms or Transfiguration first" The other girl sighed, "I just simply cannot start the day with History of Magic for I'm sure I'll just go right back to sleep"
Susan giggled and began a small debate over which class are better than the other, catching some attention from some Hufflepuffs doing some late summer homework.
"How can you two be so cheery this early?" Justin grumbled as he came down the stairs, Hannah behind him.
"Because we are actually looking forward to our classes" Susan responded as Lea snickered behind her hand.
Justin stuck his tongue out at her as she did so in return, "C'mon you two, we still have about forty minutes of breakfast" And with that, the four of them walked out of their Common Rooms and into the kitchens.
They greeted some elves on their way out, they happily bid them good morning before rushing around to do their daily chores. The four of them were talking about which class they were most looking forward to, their voices echoing through the hallway along with the taps of their shoes with every step they took.
A sweet aroma reached their noses as they passed the Great Hall's wide open doors to see that many students were already there and eating away their breakfasts, some with smiles as they chatted with their friends, others picked around their food for they were too nervous to eat.
Professor Sprout approached them with slips of paper in her hands, "Here are your timetables, if you need any help getting to any of your classes, don't be afraid to ask" She kindly told them as she passed them their timetables before walking away to other Hufflepuffs who just entered also.
Lea looked around and saw Dean, Seamus and Neville sitting down at the Gryffindor table , piling food into their plates, "Will you wait for me to go to classes?" She asked the trio beside her.
She certainly didn't want to get lost on the first day, Susan had informed them that she knew how to get to every classroom in Hogwarts, including some classes like Divination or Muggles Studies that they weren't going to take until third year.
"Of course, but at 9:20, we're going to get our books so we won't be late" Hannah told her with a smile, which Lea returned, grateful to have so good friends before approaching the three boys.
"Morning boys" She greeted them as she sat down beside Neville, who was rubbing the sleep away from his eyes.
"Morning Lea" They greeted in return before returning to their plates.
