After they left Gringotts, they went to Madam Malkon's Robes For All Occasions to get their robes fitted, then they went to Flourish and Blotts, where the shelves were stacked to the ceiling with books as large as paving stones bound in leather, books the size of postage stamps in covers of silk, books full of peculiar symbols and a few books with nothing in them at all. Harry had to drag Lea out of the shop as she kept looking at books and all it's subjects and themes, she pouted when they exited the store but only pouted as they walked off.
The Apothecary ... was fascinating enough to make up for its horrible smell, a mixture of bad eggs and rotted cabbages. Barrels of slimy stuff stood on the floor, jars of herbs, dried roots, and bright powders lined the walls, bundles of feathers, strings of fangs, and snarled claws hung from the ceiling. The Potters didn't want to enter but had to get their equipment for Potions, they ran out of the store as soon as they paid, breathing in the fresh and clean air from outside.
"We still need...a wand" Lea said as they walked along the streets, she and Harry carrying their books under their arms, Hagrid carrying the rest, she looked up from the list. "A wand? Well, you'll want Ollivanders, no place better" Hagrid pointed at a store on the end of the street. The shop was narrow and shabby. Peeling gold letters over the door read Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C.
"Run along there, but wait. I just got one more thing I got to do" He said as they were outside of the store, "Won't be long" He adds as he sees the worried looks the twins give him.
He walks away as the siblings turn their attention back towards the store before entering quietly, a single wand lay on a faded purple cushion in the dusty window. A tinkling bell rang somewhere in the depths of the shop as they stepped inside. It was a tiny place, empty except for a single, spindly chair. They placed their books on the chair before looking around the store, there were shelves and shelves of wands but no people, Lea looked at all the types of wands labeled on the boxes.
"Hello? Hello?" She heard Harry say softly behind her but didn't look away from the multiple boxes. She wonders what her wand will be like, 'Do they make you one and send it to you after? Or is there a special wand made the same time you were born?' Theses thoughts went flying through her head.
Thunk!
Lea jumped in fright of the noise and turns, looking at a man on a ladder with white hair and kind blue eyes, Harry stood before the counter as the man's eyes focuses on him and he smiles. "I wondered when I'd be seeing you, Mr. Potter" He says as he climbs down the ladder and turns around, he notices Lea and adds, "And you too Ms. Potter"
Lea smiled at him but the feeling in her stomach came back, what does that mean? Is she sick? But she waved the thoughts away and focused on Olivander as he said, "It seems only yesterday that your mother and father were in here buying their first wands" He looked at all the boxes before picking one and pulling it out, approaching the counter while removing the lid, "Ah, here we are" He said as he took it out and hands it to Harry but as he took it, he just stands there, "Well, give it a wave"
Harry looked down at the wand and he did so, letting out an "Oh!" as all the shelves come crashing down to the ground, ending up all sprawled, Lea jumped back in time as a box was inches from hitting her in the face. Harry quickly puts the wand down on the counter, taking a step back as he does so.
Olivander eyes the boxes on the ground before turning to Harry again, saying: "Apparently not" He looks above them, thinking for another wand to try before placing his finger up and quickly walking up some stairs, carefully walking around the boxes on the ground. He takes out another boxes, opening the lid as he steps down the stairs and holding it out to the boy, "Perhaps this"
