ONE.

Tatiana.

The Court was a huge room completed with solid silver chairs for every council member. Council members that were in Court were assigned two advisors and can only have one family member present. Another four more chairs were at the other end of the room. Two of those golden chairs were for my brother, Adrian, and me. The other two were for my father, King of the Vampires and Witches, and my mother, Queen. They didn't have any chairs behind them because the council members were their advisor and servants. My brother and I were their only family.

The only art that mirrored the walls was the current ruler of the Vampires and Witches or the symbol the signified the council members rank, power and coven or line. These were used to identify if they were either vampire or witch.

Massive doors opened before me and I started walking forward. Adrian, who vaguely resembled my father, followed behind me. I could hear his cloak slapping against marble floor and his shoes. Adrian always was the one that hated wearing old-fashioned clothing. His style of clothing matched with his title as Prince and the second heir. As first born and eldest of the Royal Family, I was the heir to both the Witch and Vampire throne. I was the only princess and Adrian was the only prince.

But that would soon change. Once Amanda Williams comes, she would be the next princess after Adrian. I would still have my place behind my mother and father, but I wouldn't be the only princess.

Adrian and I approached the dais where my parents were located. They sat side by side. My father looked like the grim reaper reincarnated with his black clothes. The only thing that didn't resemble the grim reaper was my father's light brown hair and green eyes. My mother looked the exact opposite with her long black hair and pale blue eyes that turned a fiery blue when angered. She was wearing a dark blue dress that came to her knees and a black cloak over it with four-inch heels.

I was wearing the exact same thing. The dark blue and black represented the colors of our family's rank, power, and coven over the witches. The colors also represented the vampires that Adrian and I made.

"The Council may begin," I heard my mother's voice.

"The first and major issue the Council has is the issue with your half-human daughter, Your Majesty," One of the council members from the vampire side stood and faced my father. He had brown hair with green and brown eyes and, at first glance, he looked very mean.

"That will not be an issue since I have arranged for her to be picked up and escorted here safely," my father assured the Council. They nodded in acknowledgment. The issue was dropped.

"Who will escort the human?" Or not.

"My children, Princess Tatiana and Prince Adrian," my mother answered. It was clear that my mother wanted the issue to past. Out of respect for my mother, the council member didn't continue.

Five other issues were announced. The second issue brought up was the Rogue Vampires. They were not Royal vampires that were born and frozen in immortality. They were vampires that were made from one of the council members or a different non-royal vampire that had been made by a council member.

The other issues were ones that included Adrian and me. We were like the police in our world. We enforce the laws of the Witches and Vampires. The first main rule that was not to be broken under any circumstances was the one that said you could not reveal yourself to any human. Our survival depended on secrecy. Any other rule that followed was not as important.

"-you may leave," my mother's voice cut through my concentration. She had just dismissed the council members.

Adrian and I got up from our seats and started walking toward the side door. I knew our parents were going to argue. That was the outcome of every conversation that involved Amanda Williams. My mother didn't hate the human daughter. She hated the human mother that was once her servant.
