THREE.

Tatiana.

I continued to wipe my silver blood off my face. I had\ taken most of the pain away from the girl, but it was too much for me to bear. Blood started coming out of my eyes, nose, and ears from the pain that I had taken from Amanda.

She would have died if I hadn't done anything. Adrian didn't feel any pain even though his mind was linked to mine. I had blocked him off completely, therefore taking most of the pain. Amanda felt a taste of what I had experienced.

"How is she?" I asked Adrian.

"She'll live. How are you?" Adrian turned the question back to me.

"I'll live," I said with a smile.

"Milady," Elliot, Ryan, Jason, and Eric said as they bowed and entered my room. The rest on my line was waiting just outside of my room.

Elliot stood by my right side with Adrian while Eric stood on my left. Eric held hand to his mouth and kissed it. I glanced at Jason and saw that his fists clenched and a muscle ticked in his jam. Ryan had the same reaction. I knew Elliot wouldn't show any emotion because I trained him do that in any public situation.

"I'm fine. How did you know?" I asked them.

"Your mind block Adrian's mind from the pain, but it didn't block yours from ours. We didn't feel it in the front of our mind like you, but we did fell it in the back of our minds." Elliot informed me.

"We?" I asked, skeptically.

"Your entire line. All ninety-three. Their lines didn't feel the pain." Adrian said. "Twenty three of them had arrived when you came back with Elliot, but now all ninety-three are here with their lines. They flew here as fast as they could." Adrian said to me.

"Okay. Did you find out where the magic came from?" I asked Adrian.

"No, I couldn't. What made you think it was magic?" Adrian turned the question back at me.

"Leave us," I said to Ryan and Jason.

"I could feel the magic as if it were my own, Adrian. I felt responsible for it!" I yelled the last part to Adrian. Elliot looked alarm and Adrian looked at me like I was crazy. "I'm not crazy. I know what I felt. And I felt that magic like someone was using mine straight from my mind."

Adrian left my room. Elliot stood at my side, he looked exhausted. My powers automatically probed his mind for anything that I might have missed. His mind was always blocked, but not from me. For me, his mind opened.

"How are, really?" He asked me.

"I have a little headache. That's all," I answered truthfully.

"I'll get a healer," he was about to leave when I grabbed his hand.

"Don't. I'll be fine," I said to him. "Just stay here."

Elliot walked closer to me and kneeled by my bed. He turned his hand over in mine and tightened his grip. His hand was so warm and reassuring that I didn't want to let go. I rolled over on my side and looked Elliot right in the eye. Elliot's mind, heart, and soul were something that I regret changing. He was too good.

My body tensed as Elliot leaned closer to me. I lay perfectly still as he let go of my hand and slid his hands up my arm. He left little bumps on my arm after him. After what seemed like years, Elliot's cupped my head in his hands and pulled me up with him.

His gaze locked on my lips. My lips parted at the attention and my tongue snaked out to lick my bottom lip. His head slowly inched toward mine as I studied him.
