Seven.

Jennifer.

Relief washed through me as I watched the council members argue about the twits. They weren't supposed to be Heirs anyway. I wasn't going to worry about them. Marian could deal with them and their mother.

My only main concern was Amanda. She wasn't mine, but the Council didn't know that. Marian didn't even believe that she was Amelia's daughter. The witch had unblocked my mind, so my thoughts were now easy to read.

I glanced toward the witch and her eldest daughter, Tatiana. Amelia sat gracefully on her throne next to her King. I knew she was anger, but she didn't show it. Tatiana was the same. Adrian, however, was a different matter entirely.

Although his facial expression was blank and unrevealing, his eyes betrayed were confused. I could take advantage of him if I just try. Perhaps make him believe me instead of the witches. He was already too attached to his father.

Amanda.

"I will not bow to a human. My allegiance is given to the witches," One of the vampires said. Six more said the same thing. My father's face was blank as they did this.

My skin started to get a little itch just as Marian rose from his seat and walked to the middle of the courtroom. A silent cloak befell the room and every eye was on him.

"My council member, I must ask you to decide wisely. Since Amelia will no longer be Queen and her children will no longer be Heirs of the Vampire throne, they will have no power. The peace between our races will no longer exist. Choose wisely," Marian held his arm out and Jennifer ran down to take it. Only seven of the council members bowed. The rest remained standing.

"My King," Amelia called after him.

Marian turned.

"Do you remember the night we meet?' she asked him. A pain expression crossed Marian's face.

"Yes," he answered.

Amelia smiled. "Then you remember the promise we shared."

"Yes, I do." Marian said after a long pause.

Amelia rose from her chair and started walking to Marian. Tatiana did the same until they were standing directly in front Marian. I glanced at Adrian and saw that he was still sitting down.

"'I give my blood to you as my life and my love for you to keep as your own.'" Amelia quoted.

"Then I asked you what you wanted. I told you that the sky was the limit," Marian said.

"I asked for a star from the eastern sky," Amelia added. "You said that as long as you love me, the star will shine bright. I also remember you saying that as long as the star is bright, I will sit beside you as a Queen of your people."

Marian didn't have anything to say to her. When he didn't do anything, Amelia reached into her dress from the side a pulled out something very bright. I shielded my eyes from the brightness.

"That which you swear with you blood, you must fulfill. According to this star that you enchanted with your own blood, your love for me still shines bright," Amelia raised her head as she said this. Tatiana smiled.

"That maybe true, Amelia, but that was years before he met his true life mate," Jennifer said.

Amelia laughed. "The mighty King Marian found his life mate in a servant girl that once worked for his wife, me, Queen of the Witches and Vampires."

Whoo! Go mom! I thought.

"You are no longer Queen!" Jennifer screamed.

Witches and Vampires jumped up, snarling from the insult. Six vampires were standing in front of Marian and Jennifer, while five other vampires and twelve witches stood before Tatiana and Amelia. Fangs bared, fire flying, and something blue was in between them.
