Harper's PoV
"Say it again." I demanded excitedly.
Luke groaned at the other side of the phone but still obliged "I like you."
I smiled "I like you too."
Luke and I have been talking on the phone for the past couple of days. We've agreed to keep it between us since we really don't want anybody to know, but of course I had to tell Megan and Riley.
No, I didn't tell them willingly. They read a message Luke sent me and pinned my against the wall demanding to know what happened. I made sure to pinky swear with them that they wouldn't say anything.
"Hey where are you?" Luke asked
I rolled my eyes "Its 4am, so . . . I'm probably skydiving." I said sarcasm dripping off my tone.
He chuckled deeply "Meet me in the park in 2 hours."
My eyes widened "In 2 hours? You know I'm not an early person."
"And yet you're still awake talking to me." He said smugly.
I scoffed "That's only because I like you."
Yes I like Luke, I really like Luke. It's funny to think that I'd fall for one of my closest friends brother, in fact it's kind of a little strange but you can't help who you fall for and I won't let that dictate my life decisions.
"I like you too." He said firmly.
I shrugged "I know you do."
He scoffed playfully "Cocky much?"
"Babe, there's a big difference between being cocky and having confidence." I said giggling slightly.
"Yeah and you be cocky." He said his laughter sounding through the phone.
I rolled my eyes immaturely "Yeah, okay."

"Are you sure meeting up before school was the only way of us getting together." I asked Luke pushing my feet off the ground slightly, making the swing rock a little.
He smirked from the swing next to me, "Babe, unless you want the whole world to know about us then . . . "
"You know I'm not ready for that." I said cutting him off.
He nodded "Well then pucker up Harp cos I didn't wake up 2 and a half hours earlier than usual for nothing."
I smiled as he leaned in and kissed me. The kiss was slow and delicate, not the rough, fast kisses we would normally have. Luke was the first one to break off the kiss.
"You're no fun." I said pouting
He laughed "I think this will make it up to you." He went into his backpack and pulled out a red rose.
I smiled "You got me a rose?"
He scratched the back of his neck "Well yeah. You're always saying you like stuff like this, so I thought I'd get one for you."
I quickly kissed his cheek smelling the flower. "Thank you so much."
He shrugged giving me a lop sided grin "No problem, babe."

"Hey man what's up?"
I smiled at Liam as he lightly slapped me on the shoulder "Nothing man, you?"
He shrugged casually "Just dreading the literature homework we have. I don't do poetry."
I laughed at his words, our literature assignment was to write a poem about someone you admire. When we first received the task, I was less than impressed but after a couple of days, I decided to give it a go and I easily wrote about a person I admire deeply.
The bell rung through the school and I turned to Liam "Speak of literature and it shall appear."
Liam shook his head unamused "Not, funny man, really not funny."

"I love her golden skin, the way my eyes brighten when I see her, the way you slice her up and . . . "
"Hold up a second," My English teacher said cutting Liam off "who are you talking about."
Liam sighed effortlessly as though we should all know who he was talking about "I'm talking about a pineapple, I thought it would be more realistic if I referred to her as a she."
The whole class groaned. Liam was something else, we were told to write about a person we admire and he writes about a pineapple, classic Liam.
The teacher groaned but sided against saying anything and just gestured for Liam to sit back in his seat. I turned to look at Harper who was sat at the back of the class. She was talking Riley, but as if she noticed my eyes laid on her, she briefly glanced at me, a smile appearing on her face.
"Luke Tomas?" My teacher asked making my attention snap to him. Once I realized he was telling me it was my turn I cleared my throat and got out of my seat heading towards the front of the class. I looked at all the people in front of me.
I really hated public speaking, don't get me wrong I'm not shy or anything like that. It's just speaking in front of large crowds is just one thing I've never been able to do without feeling nervous or uncomfortable. I nodded my head softly in reassurance before pulling out the piece of paper from my pocket and beginning to speak.
"There's something about her. Her smile tells a thousand words. Her eyes show the emotion she contains and her laugh brings music to my ears. She influences everybody with her wits and charisma. The best part about her is that she doesn't even know she has these powers, these charms, that I and many others admire."
Once I had finished I realized I was getting a round of applause, a smiled in realization before going back to my seat.
Okay maybe poetry isn't that bad after all.

"I know you wrote that about me." I said to Luke leaning against the locker.
He rolled his eyes playfully "What no how sweet? Or maybe a you shouldn't have?"
I grinned brightly "I'm sorry, it was adorable, so thank you."
Him nodding was my response.
I sighed and bit my bottom lip hesitant to speak. "Luke?"
"Mmh?" He asked looking at me.
"Do you really think I'm all of those things?" I asked quietly afraid of the answer.
I was caught off guard when we grabbed my shoulders placing them in line so I was staring directly at him. "Look Harper, you're like no other girl I've met before and you're all those things and more."
I couldn't ignore the smile that took over my expression due to his words. I felt my cheeks tint of shade of red as butterflies erupted in my stomach. I looked down and nodded shyly. "Thanks."
He smiled "No problem."
The bell sounded the through the hall, I turned to Luke "I've got to go take your sister car shopping."
He nodded and awkwardly kicked his foot against the school floor "Well I guess I'll see you around?"
I nodded "Yeah . . . "
He sighed "You know I would probably hug you or something but everybody's watching and you know?"
I gave him a small smile "Yeah I know."
After waving at him and turned down the hall towards the parking lot.
Well, it looks like Harpers got some 'charms.'
