Luke's PoV

"Pss, hey bro."

I stopped at the top of the stairs to see where that noise was coming from.

"Who's there?" I asked with a brow raised.

"Luke it's me." I recognized that honeyed, confident voice anywhere.

I rolled my eyes "Bethany where are you?"

"Behind this door."

I turned around to see a blonde lock flowing out of the door to the laundry room. I made my way towards the door and causally opened it to see Bethany stood there. "Okay what do you want?" I asked impatiently. "I've got to get to school and you should too."

She scoffed and waved her hand in an uncaring manner "I've got bigger things to deal with than school. What's happening with you and charm girl?"

My eyebrows curiously started to raise "How do you know about that?"

"I read your poem thing, but I wouldn't call it a poem, it didn't even rhyme." She said with ease, not a care in the world.

I folded my arms, my eyes narrowing into slits "I didn't want it to rhyme, don't you think if I did, I would have wrote it like that?"

Beth shrugged "You tell me. Did you want it to rhyme?"

"Bethany . . . " I warned, my voice deep.

She sighed "Fine, fine how are you and that girl I can never remember the name of doing?"

I rolled my eyes "Harper and I are doing fine, in fact she's coming over to our house tonight to hang out."

"Isn't Bree having a party tonight for her friend who wants to hookup with one of your friends?" She asked but seconds later her eyes widened and her hand went quickly over her mouth.

"What?" I asked confused.

"What?" She said trying to act casual.

I ran a hand through my hair and dismissed her comment. "I'm leaving now."

"Wait," She called after me. "do you really think you being with Harper on the night of Bree's party is such a good idea?" She asked wearily.

I shrugged "I guess we're gonna find out."

I then turned around and walked out of the door.

Harper's PoV

"Cute bracelet." Riley said as she hit the ball that Megan had served to her.

We were all currently in my backyard playing tennis. Well at least Riley and Megan were.

I nodded smiling down at the bracelet. "Thank you, it's nice isn't it?"

"Yeah it is?" Riley and Megan chorused all of a sudden right next to me, their tennis rackets laid across the floor next to the net.

I frowned "How'd you do that?"

"So tell us then, how much did he pay for this then?" Megan asked eyeing the jewellery.

I stared at them both for a brief second before answering "Um, excuse me?"

"Well that's a Pandora charms bracelet, they ain't cheep you know? Luke really must care about you." She stated causally.

I raised a brow cautiously "How did you . . . "

Riley sighed and ran her fingers down her long hair. "We can see the way you were looking at it. If a person like your mum got that for you, you wouldn't be staring at it with so much love, would you now?"
