Ashlynne Graham is an honor student with two popular brothers. She is starting her junior year at Valleyridge High in Los Angeles with her best friend Katie Pierce and Katie's twin James. Just one thing: she has a deep secret that only her brother's...
"C'mon Ashlynne and Jacob, let's go! It's the first day of my senior year and I don't need to be late!" My older brother Tyler yelled up the stairs.
Today was the first day of school, Tyler starting his senior year, me starting my junior year and Jacob starting his sophomore year.
"Why do we have to rush?" I asked "We still have an hour before we have to be at school."
"We have to go and pick up the Pierce's, and knowing them they are probably running late." He replied.
See, Katie Pierce is my best friend. We went to a summer camp together a few years ago and ended up starting high school together. Her older brother, Chase, is Tyler's best friend and her twin, James, is the star quarterback (and my crush of two years, but who's counting).
"Fine, just give me two more minutes" I yelled back, while brushing my curly auburn hair and putting it up into a half ponytail. I quickly put on some black mascara and eyeliner to make my green eyes stand out and double checked to make sure my outfit looked okay. I'm wearing a pair of light blue, high waisted jeans, a white crop top, a navy blue scarf and some black converse.

I race down the stairs with my black Jansport backpack slung over my shoulder. As I reach the kitchen and greet Tyler, I hear Jacob trip in the upstairs hallway. I walk over to see him standing up, attempting to fix his curly brown hair, black and white shirt and his jeans.

His backpack is at the bottom of the stairs, as is one of his black converse, the other is halfway down the stairs.
"Jacob, What on earth did you do?" Tyler said walking out of the kitchen.
"I tripped over one of my shoes, as I was in a rush and wasn't paying attention." Jacob says, as if the answer was obvious. This has happened before, so the answer should have been known.
"Maybe if you wake up a bit earlier you wouldn't be in a rush. And cleaning up a little, wouldn't hurt either." Tyler added.
As I looked back at Tyler a thought hit me, we were all matching. Tyler had a black hoodie, blue jeans and white vans on making us all look like we had planned this.

"Ummm... Guys?" I said as they looked at me "We're all matching, and I would go and change but we aren't gonna pick the Pierce's up on time if I do."
"Whatever Ashlynne, we've done this before so don't worry about it." Tyler replied. My only issue is that it doesn't bother him, but it does bother me. Because both my brothers are on the football team, they make me sit with them all the time at lunch, I'm constantly in the spotlight. I hate it! I'm an honour student meaning I'm a nerd. Nerds should not be sitting at the popular table in the cafeteria. Nerds should not be matching with the football players.
"Fine" I sigh, as I grab an apple from the counter; next to it is a note from our dad. Picking it up I wave it at Tyler. "Did you already read this?" I asked.
"Yeah" he said "Dad's going on a work trip to Las Vegas and will be back in about a month"
"Oh. Okay." I replied. My dad isn't like most dad's. He's hardly ever around and when he is, he gets drunk. It all started three years ago, a year after my mom died. She had lung cancer and there was no way to stop it. She was the love of his life and he only put up with my brothers and I because she loved us and we were her world. When she died he blamed it on us.
"I know you really want him to be an actual father, but you know that's never going to happen." Tyler says as he walks over and hugs me.
"We have enough of a family with the three of us!" Jacob added coming over to join the hug.
"I know. And thanks guys. I love you so much." I said before giving them one last squeeze and walking out of the house into Tyler's Jeep, sitting shotgun.
"Let's go ladies. Wouldn't want to be late for the first day of school" I teased as Jacob locked the front door and coming to sit behind me while Tyler started the car.
